| got a new pc since the last time i played wow. Right now one account runs around 120 fps in city with one account active. how many accounts could i run without running into problems. Windows rates the system at 7.7 on its scale with a max of 7.9 currently because of just using the SSD, its 7.7 lowest for the Primary hard disk transfer rate. Thanks for any advice and help. 1 x GIGABYTE GA-Z68XP-UD4 LGA 1155 Intel Z68 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard 2 x EVGA 02G-P3-1568-KR GeForce GTX 560 Ti (Fermi) 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video *in SLI* 2 x G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2133 (PC3 17000) Desktop Memory *16GB total* 1 x COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 Plus RR-B10-212P-G1 "Heatpipe Direct Contact" Long Life Sleeve 120mm CPU Cooler. 1 x 1000w PSU 2 x hp 22 inch screens 1 x Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit 1 x i7 2700k which is currently running at 3.9gz with high end thermal paste. and an 180GB intel SSD for the games and OS. p.s disclaimer, i dont know much about computers other then very very basics, had father in-law help build this one since i could get the intel parts from intels employee store site for pretty cheap. also he works for intel fixing their machines lol so who better to help me build my first one. |

| I doubt you would have any problems running 5 to 10 accounts on that rig. the only limitation i see would be if you only have the 180GB ssd for total data storage. Typically i prefer to run each account with it's own copy of a world of warcraft program files folder purely to avoid issues caused by how windows handles data used by running programs. Not everyone does this but Windows design implements file locking for data backed resources of executable programs. If you follow what i'm after explaining this can lead to your multiple logged in accounts having issues caused by server desync due to having multiple wow.exe programs all running from the same program files folder. This can only be completely avoided by not running multiple game clients from the same world of warcraft folder if your running 5 clients this will obviously require more storage space than you have available. Considering you have an intel Z68 motherboard one potential solution to this would be to use the SSD drive for a cache device and pickup a standard seagate 2TB sata 3 hard drive. Z68 chipset motherboards offer a feature called Intel Smart Response SSD Caching. https://www.pcworld.com/article/2488...echnology.html "How much performance can you expect to gain by using Smart Response Technology? We tested the technology on a system equipped with a Core i7-2600K processor, 4GB of RAM, a WD Raptor hard drive, and a 20GB Intel solid-state drive, all running under Windows 7 Ultimate x64. With SRT disabled, the system posted a PCMark Vantage score of 12,138. With SRT acceleration enabled, the machine operating in Enhanced mode, and the entire 20GB capacity of the SSD used for SRT, the system's PCMark Vantage score jumped to 16,563. And with SRT operating in Maximized mode, performance in PCMark Vantage increased to 16,582--a boost of about 36 percent over the system's performance without SRT. What the numbers don't convey is the speedier feel of the system. The SSD's shorter access times and quicker transfers resulted in a much snappier and more responsive system than you'd get with a hard drive alone. The difference is like night and day." With this kind of setup you get the benefits of standard hard disk storage space with SSD data transfer speeds aswell as the big advantage avoiding the dangers of using an SSD hard drive for your os install. | cool, testing with 3 accounts right now. main account and 2 trials. still sorta worried about using my main battlenet account. i put the last 7 years into it and dont want to lose it even thou all the research says ill be fine lol. just waiting till end of month to turn all the accounts back on if everything runs smoothly. i might just have to bite the bullet and use main battle net account since it already has 5 cata accounts on it, ill lose the RAF bonus but still shouldnt take me long to level some teams. |

| If your at all worried or concerned about having your oldest account locked from people reporting you for what they may misunderstand as suspicious activity i'd recommend creating a ticket to notify blizzard your experimenting with multiboxing. I did that with my account and requested that the person i spoke with on the phone make a note in my account with regards to my multiboxing hobby. If it's helped or not is anyone's guess but i've had threats from disgruntled whiners in the past claiming they all reported me... I'm still waiting for the banhammer that I can likely say will never happen |
