Default Re: Finishing off a new gaming system

The help I've received here is greatly appreciated. Here is what I've settled on and finally placed an order for.

Western Digital Caviar Green 1 TB SATA III Intellipower Hard Drive (for Win 7 Home Premium)
EVGA GTX 560 2Gb Graphics Card
Corsair Force GT 60 GB SATA III SSD (for the WoW install)

This ought to complete the system. Once delivered I shall construct it, test it, and finally get back to 'boxing. I'll be looking into recording at least, and possibly streaming if my connection permits. Although admittedly my stream would likely be viewed as a comedy as I'd bite off more than I can chew and have a macro fail horribly. All the more fun in my book though. Thanks to you all, Tim, Seth, Ualaa, and Xartin for the time and advice you've given.

I do computer business systems consulting for a living and a hobby. The best reward indeed for someone with a hobby job

That system is going to crush it very well

Xartin is super knowledgable, in fact, he actually is the first person who helped me stream back in 2009. Remember that bro?

All the parts are in and construction has begun. It's been so long since I've done this. SO MANY WIRES!

Indeed this system will be able to handle what I'll be throwing at it for some time. I'm eager to have it all up and running.

@Xartin - How would you go about getting a job like that these days? If I can ask, what type of schooling have you done, and where would one begin to do your job nowadays?

Well... i started reading computer shopper back in 1995, owned a Power Mac pre G3 era and an original atari gaming console.

One of my first exposures to programming were basic on an apple IIe as well as a ColecoVision adam which i somehow managed to break by attempting to recode the memory interface routine in basic

After that it was a legacy of breaking things to see what made them work including tons of computer software

So many people coming out of schools lack years of practical experience. With having a hobby it turned out to be the opposite route for me with a decade of practical experience before ever setting foot in a classroom.
