Question Building a new PC

Hello. I'm pretty new to the whole thing with "Multiboxing", and to start, I'd like a new computer which will be able to handle it. Not my old lagtop, that is..

A friend of mine put this together and I'd like to know if everything is able to run smooth, with 5 x WoW's up and is everything compatible?

Here goes the list:
Grapichs: XFX Radeon HD 5850 1GB GDDR5
Processor: Intel Core™ i7 Quad Processor i7-860
Motherboard: ASUS P7P55D, P55, Socket-1156
Memory: Kingston DDR3 HyperX 1800MHz 2GB CL8 (x3, aka 6gb)
PSU: Corsair TX 650W PSU

Is this a monstrous PC? If it is, thats just what I want
It must be able to run games that's made tomorrow, possibly on 1920x1200 reso and highest gfx settings.

Thanks for taking your time!

That system will certainly run 5x warcraft quite well.

An i5-860 is probably a better bang for the buck, then an i7-920, but the 920 is a stronger processor.

The memory is fast and enough for WoW, although more is always good especially if you'll do other things on the system too. 6gb is plenty for 5x wow and nothing else, but you'd want 9/12 if you're going to encode video or multitask other stuff too.

Video card is overkill, so you'll be able to run with more eye candy on, then most of us.
I'd consider a more powerful power supply, if you plan to upgrade down the road or go crossfire for another game (SLI/Crossfire doesn't get you much in wow).

The only component not mentioned is your hard drive. I'd recommend a small, generation 1, SSD somewhere in the $100-200 range, purely for your gaming folder. 30, 60 or 80 GB would be plenty. If you're tempted to put your operating system on it, get a generation 2 device (Intel X-25m... but they're a lot more expensive).

And go with a 64-bit version of your operating system, probably Win7 Home or Win7 Professional (if you want the XP virtual desktop for older programs). 32-bit operating systems cannot use more then 3.25gb of ram (which after your video card, would leave 2.25gb for wow).

Welcome to multiboxing, its a blast.

Definitely go with Recruit A Friend (RAF).
The battlechests (Wow + Burning Crusade) are very cheap on the Blizzard site at the moment, I'd go this route. You'll still need 5x WotLK, as your team approaches 70th.

Thanks alot for your answer and taking time to help me out!

Yeah, I know that about the 4gb+ RAM that you need 64bit os .
Probably going for 12GB aswell, I'm a real multi-tasker for every sort of program.

About i5-860, my father said the i7-860 would be a better run (in the end as I'm not going to overclock as I don't want to risk anything).
Is he right?

And about the SSD disk, yeah, I've heard its great but it's too expensive for the moment. I just hope my small 320gb "games" harddrive can keep up. Got 3TB storage disks aswell.

Thanks yet again .

Here's a comparison between the two.
Not a whole lot of difference.

Compare Intel® Products,

I guess I'll stick to the i7-860, as it's $40 cheaper in my country than the i7-920

Exclamation Re: Building a new PC

Bumpabump.

I have NOT ordered those items, except the Graphics Card which is shown on picture...

But, now, I am. But other parts.

Does this fit together? I'm most likely going to order it in 2-3 days.

CPU: WEBHALLEN.com - Intel Core i7 930 2,8GHz / 8MB / 4,8GT/s Socket 1366 (Boxed)

Mobo: WEBHALLEN.com - Asus - Socket 1366 - ATX Intel X58 (P6T Deluxe V2) - DDR3 / 3xPCI-E / SATA

RAM: WEBHALLEN.com - Kingston HyperX T1 6144MB DDR3 PC3-16000 2000MHz (KHX2000C9AD3T1K3/6GX) (3x2048MB)

And now, to my biggest question, is this one enough?

Power Supply: WEBHALLEN.com - XFX PowerSupply (PSU) XXX Edition 650W

Disks: WEBHALLEN.com - Corsair 80GB Force Series F80 Intern SATA II 2.5" (SSD) <- Corsair 90GB (it says 80, thou) SSD; 285Read/275Write + 5 other disks, old 7200rpm ones.

Just need some quick help, is this a good setup?

I DO want fast ram, nothing can change my mind. I DO want fast SSD, nothing can change my mind.

I DO want everything, to work properly as a whole. Thats what I want to know.

I am going to buy the WEBHALLEN.com - CORSAIR H70 HYDRO CPU COOLER S-775/1156/1366/AM2+/AM3 Once I have enough money.

Thanks for taking your time!
