Default Best UK ISP?

Hey guys,

I'm getting sick to death of Virgin Media throttling my connection, I can't even login to play tonight because my connection has dropped below 1mbps from it's usual 6! Just wondering what the best phoneline ISP for gamers is out there? BT, O2, Sky etc....Just after people's experience. Need a connection that won't be throttled and preferrably with unlimited downloads. Anyone help appreciated

https://www.bethere.co.uk/web/beportal/bepro £24.99
sky i pay £10.00 then with tv and all that and all the stuff they keep adding its gone up to a £55.00 so wehn my 12 months go i probey go back with be

Yeah, been looking at O2 Pro or a dedicated gamer package from Plusnet http://http://www.plus.net/residenti...band/pro.shtml. Seems like this could be interesting but not sure about the 20gb download limit?

u use 20gb to fast if your geting capped by virgen then your done for

You wont to look for somethink like

We'll never artificially reduce your speed to cram more people on a line (like some ISPs do).

The comany i work for brings in the internet in the UK and sells it on so i kind off know whats the better ones out there sky have a lot probs to many users on the networks same as virgen

That's what I don't understand, don't even use 500mb a day. I hardly download, I don't stream music/video, I only play WOW and yet every day at peak times, Virgin throttle my connection. I can still only logon 1 toon now and running speedtest comes back with a lower speed.

Looking more likely for the plusnet pro connection, I never download but if I need to I can schedule it to be done between 12am and 8am when it's free.

Any ideas what Virgin's problem is? And even though I have 5 months left to run on a 12 month contract i'd be willing to pay the price to cancel. I've been with Virgin for 5 years, the previous 4 on their Fibre-Optic lines but when I moved house all we could get was the crappy ADSL service, (the street in front gets fibre-optic lines, but not ours).

I only want to be able to play WOW stabley and not keep getting 10,000+ms lag or booted straight off.
