| Hi there! I play warcraft on a LAN server My os is puppy linux tipsy nvidia with compiz / wine and vmware player. I play 4 client hands under WINE at 800x600 on a 1600x1200 screen. The server (currently Reaper / Trinity) runs under a vm of winxp on the same box. Its really slick & pretty BUT... I have BAD probs controlling 4 hands at once and would like to use an old addon called Fightback 103 - see: Fight Back - World of Warcraft Mods The idea is that characters fight back automatically if attacked. Ideally chase off after monsters that run away. And use their abilities too a bit would b good (while I'm "asking the earth" © 2010 )! As a start, Fightback refuses to fight back. Any ideas why? Can it be fixed or do I get to keep both halves!? Has anyone used this addon? Has anyone tried this addon? How do I find out what client version was it designed for? Did it run on a current client? What client ver are you on? I'm looking at an upgrade to 3.3.5a. Any help would b cool! Lastly - anyone remember syndicate wars (OLD)? Would like to be able to line up mobs in battle formations and fight vs other players.... (Big ask there). : ) amd 64x2 2gb ram nvidia 6 series graphics on board puppy linux tipsy nv 4.12 WINE 1.1.26 Trinity core2 rev 4194 client 3.1.3 Considering Latest Mangos and 3.3.5a Compiz Screeners . . . For the die hard windows users who (like myself a year or two ago) haven't seen Compiz desktop manager running it may b a bit of a suprise. "Worry balls at the ready, Sir. . . " ![]() ![]() Here's my usual 4 player hand . . . 4x start screen ![]() Here's a few from a bash through stratholme over last week or so. . . . Looks safe enough. . . . ![]() We tried . . . ![]() . . . and died! ![]() Then kicked ass . . . . ![]() And a piccy of the latest push in the Caverns of time. . . . "It's like bleeding groundhog day!!!" |

| The addon used to work, but will not work under the current API. It is unlikely to ever work again, as combat is now a protected function. You have to manually turn on combat, an addon can no longer do this for you. A bot might be able to, but that will get you banned in the long run, so is not a good idea. You used to be able to run macro/scripts, which would do a finishing move if you have 5 combo points, but otherwise do something which generated a combo point. Those type of macro/scripts no longer work either. Basically, if the macro/script/addon is making a decision for you, then Blizzard does what it can to make it not work anymore. Thanks for the pictures of your team. It is always nice to see what other people are up to and what they've done. |

Any idea how to sign or otherwise convince an addon to run protected code on a 3.1.3 or 3.3.5a client? There is some discussion on other sites but nothing conclusive (yet). Quote:
Do you like the approach to multiple clients, one screen, mouse and keyboard. My box is pretty modest (cost about £80) but does a fair enough job even when serving the game and providing 4 clients under WINE. Running costs of a 400watt pc and a large crt screen? Dont care! hehehe. | ||

| Not sure if we're allowed to discuss Private Servers on this site. I know we're not supposed to mention them on the other boxing site, as they want everything to be according to the ToS and Eula. If you choose to go that route, that's up to you; I'm sure people will share what works and does not work, from a boxing point of view, or even a general gaming point of view, regardless of where you play. I personally run five clients on one PC, using IS Boxer as my software multiplexer. One mouse, one keyboard, a monster 30.5" widescreen monitor. My system is 12GB DDR3, i7 920, Asus P6T Motherboard, Patriot SSD for the warcraft folder. Not sure on the cost of the running it all, but it's not terribly expensive as far as the hydro bill goes. I have several teams/character sets, which I mess around with. A: Prot. Paladin, 3x Elem. Shaman, Demo. Warlock. B: 5x Feral (Cat) Druid (3x Balance, 1x Resto, 1x Feral (Bear) as their Dual-Spec). C: Disc. Priest, Frost Mage, Balance Druid, 2x Elem. Shaman. D: 5x Death Knights. E: 5x BM. Hunters. F: 5x Disc Priests. G: 4x Warlocks, 1x Disc. Priest. Thinking of adding both 5x Paladins and 5x Mages to the mix at some point. Then mix and match the existing DK team with the new Pallies. |
