I was wanting to come join you guys but I have not had much experience playing on PVP servers. I have tried it a few times on other servers and my general experience went like this. Most of the time I never actually saw too many people by themselves that were equal level that were not being escorted by max level characters every place they went. This is fine, kill me and move on but that generally wasn’t the case (I have been camped for hours by level 80’s). However being new to the server, I obviously cannot go get my 80 to remove them from my cold dead corpse. I don’t mind getting killed and I don’t mind getting ganked by max level characters because it IS a PVP server and just a part of it. I expect to die and die a lot. My question isn’t about getting ganked and bitching about getting killed because hell I expect that. After all you play on a PVP server to kill people right? My question is more about being new to the server. Since I don’t have a level 80 on Blackrock I was just wondering what the general leveling experience on it was like not having one. Are most people escorted by max level friends every place they go? Does not having a level 80 on this server to back you up really hinder you to a point where it is almost impossible to level solo?

Leveling on a pvp server is more interesting from the pvp aspect you will be killed and camped but. If your in a guild that helps people then you will probably get help from your guild. But that is what you will get on a pvp server if you deal with it and level then you can return the favor to people when you get max level. until then do what you can level with friends get in a good guild get on vent ask for help but you will not always get help might have to wait some time for the help.

For the most part, it was an easy experience. 1-60 was pretty fairly balanced. Chances are the only time you'll encounter higher levels are during events like Mid-Summer, or outside of Instances. Other than that, it's pretty even as far as levels go. Hellfire is a bit trickier. There are still a handful of Deathknights everywhere, on both factions. Usually advertising "High level in Hellfire" will bring a level 80 of your faction to clean up the mess. It isn't bad at all. The first time I really encountered ganking as a problem was in Northrend. I was stalked by a Rogue through two different leveling zones. It was a pain in the ASS. But usually people on Blackrock are really nice about helping low-levels out. I met some friends because of this, that I still talk to even after a server transfer. It doesn't get that bad through the zones up until Grizzly Hills. Zul'Drek is pretty empty, and by the time you hit Storm Peaks, you should be able to hold your own. Here's a tip for ANY PvP server: Do both starting zones and skip Sholizar Basin. There are ALWAYS geared level 80's flying around looking for resources, and even as a fresh level 80 it's a total pain to duck and weave behind trees just to survive. The Basin is probably the most consistently populated zone of level 80's.

As a side note, the whole reason Lindline exists is to help you guys with issues such as these. If you are getting camped, and I'm on, then give me a holler and I'll do what I can.

Nice! I have already made a few toons on BR trying to decide what I would actually like to level. I have already leveled every class in this game several times so something new is hard to come by. Well everything but a DK because there has just been so many running around since they were released it didn't seem like there was enough room for another. I have always been partial to healers and play a Holy Paladin to raid with so I don't really care to play one on my free nights. I really like the priest but since 3.1 and the nerf to spirit it just seems like such a grind. Last edited by Achelis; 07-18-2009 at 03:45 PM.
