Blackrock has a pretty horrible community sometimes, especially on the PVE side of things. Lindline is kind of spinning his tires when it comes to PVE progression. PuGs require a higher GearScore, I get up to that score, and I still cant get in because I lack achievements, which I can't get because PuGs require them. Its really a catch22. And trying to get to working in established raids has just been met with epeening and elitism and the ever-present GTFO.

The fun is kind of draining quickly on my DK.

Mostly a venting post but Blackrock has some serious issues.

yeh i started to realise this awhile ago too but im not sure other servers would be much better, i think the gearscore and achievement people are spreading to all servers

Someone on my server was trying to run a pug reserving gear... he got laughed out of trade chat. From my experience, the GS crap is only a huge issue on the more competitive servers (IMO).

This isnt just blackrock. My only serious suggestion is that you form your own pugs, and my non-serious one is that you quit playing you dk, you noob.

Yea its a WoW thing, not a BR thing. What you are experiencing is basically what everybody has been saying for quite some time to Blizzard on their forums.

The problem is Blizzard and how they are pushing people towards using GearScore and achievements in order to do game material.

Pretty stupid, I know.

With that said, we gotta guild raid sometime! The only thing really stopping us is the need for some healers in the guild. Pretty soon my 5man should be able to start doing Ulduar and even ICC assuming we have guild DPS and heals (we have DPS pretty ez).

I think one of the biggest problems with the whole Gearscore/Achievement system is that you get locked out of raids for way too long.

People don't want to take nubs if they can only do it once a week, and once the raid fails, you've just wasted your lock for a week.

If they reduced the lockout time to 3-4 days, then you'd probably see less GS/Achievement requirement spam.
