Default Recording videos

So I recorded my first video yesterday. It was a timed run of Scarlet Monastery Cathedral. I was determined to get a timed run in which was completed in less than 3 minutes. I finally suceeded with 2 minutes 58. Anyway, I wanted to upload it to YouTube.

Its currently 4.8GB in size. I'm going to use Premier Pro to encode is more efficiently, but what file size should I expect to see if uploading in 720? (Do I want to do it in 1080p?? I don't know I have never done a video before).

It is only 3 minutes long.
What should I be aiming for.

I only have 0.3Mbit uplink. So its pretty slow uploading.

I encode my videos to wmv and it brings the size down into the MB, and the quality remains the same.

Thanks. I read that encoding using the x264 codec and uploading to Youtube gives the best quality.

I will try both and test the results.

Try out Camtasia Studio, free full 30 day demo, and I just bought it and its well worth it.

It is a full screen recorder + video editor + encoder.

Yeah Camtasia is nice. I use it for screen tutorials at work. Its easy to use, but lacks the ability to mash up multiple videos and caption effectively. I do very much like it though although never considered it for anything other than recording my desktop (not games).
