| YouTube - GrindersInc's Channel Wow! I guess Blizzard headed our call. We asked for challenging and we got challenging. Throne of the Tides is one mean dungeon that will put players to the test, let alone multiboxers. I don’t know if it’s the level (82), being undergeared, or just the fact that I needed to readjust to the idea that I had to go back to long forgotten game mechanics such as crowd control and spell interrupts (instead of face-rolling through Wrath dungeons like I was spoiled to), tackling the various encounters was challenging to say the least. But I loved it! And I hope the next dungeons I will tackle with my team will be as challenging and fun to complete. But enough of this… Let’s jump into the walkthrough Team composition: - Janus : protection pally - Adonis: elemental shammy - Bellenus: moonkin - Aurora: Arcane mage - Cymara: Holy priest Team level: 82 Gear: Mostly Cata greens and blues from quests and some Normal dungeon blues MBoxing software: PWNboxer The one thing to keep in mind as you tackle these encounters is positioning, positioning, positioning. I can’t emphasize this enough. Even some of the trash mobs require you to be aware of the surroundings of your toons, and GET OUT OF THE FIRE! First Boss: Lady Naz’jar - By far the trickiest and toughest encounter to master and execute. I can’t imagine how this is going to be on heroic (and I really don’t want to!) - Remember what I said about positioning? She has 2 abilities that you need to be aware of and avoid/react to at all times. A Geyser will form under your feet at different times. You can’t miss it, it’s a giant whirlpool that you need to avoid, otherwise it will send your toon up flying. She also throws Fungal Spores at random toons, so it’s important that you have your players spread out, and keep your finger on that decurse button to cleanse the poison (see the movie) - She has a shock blast spell that can and should be interrupted, or it will hit your tank for high damage -At 60 and 30% health, she will surround herself with a Watersprout. That’s your clue that she is immune and will call forth 3 adds that need to be brought down within a minute, after which she will join the fight, and most likely wipe the team. This is a good time to practice your CC awesomeness, until at least you have enough gear/level to burn them down quickly - The rest of the fight is otherwise tank n spank Second Boss: Commander Ulthok - Compared to the first boss, this is a piece of cake. - The 2 really threatening abilities he has (out of the four) are Dark Fissure, and Squeeze. - He casts Dark Fissure within melee range, so if you run a caster team, you only need to worry about your tank. - He targets random team members with Squeeze (I think he skips the tank). Trick here is to heal the toon he grabs, and make sure to get it out of melee range once the Squeeze is over. - Really simple fight. I got him down on my first attempt Third Boss: Erunak and Ghur’sha - This is actually 2 bosses with 3 phases. - I found the best way to approach this encounter, was to sneak my team up behind Erunak, in order to make use of the larger space behind him, in order to avoid his Earth Shards ability, and Ghur’sha’s mind fog better - Fight starts with Erunak. Melee range gets hit with Magma Splash and Emberstrike. So position the tank away and make sure you keep him healed. Occasionally, he sends Earth Shards, cued by spikes on the ground that travel towards random team members. Keep your slaves in one spot and when you see the shards heading towards them, move them away. The Lava Bolt targets random players, and it can be interrupted, so make sure you do interrupt it. - At 50%, Erunak goes friendly, and Ghur’sha releases him from his grip. This starts the second phase. During this phase, he targets a random player and MC them. Burn the MC’ed character down quickly to 50%. One helpful thing, is to bring back Ghur’sha after he releases the MC’ed character to the circle in the center of the room (see movie) to prepare for the third phase. - The third phase begins when the MC’ed character is released. Again, be sure you tank him AWAY from the rest of the team. His Mind Fog ability has a 10 yard radius, so it is much easier to have to worry only about positioning your tank away from it than your entire team. - When he starts to Absorb Magic, make sure to STOP all casting. All harmful casts will be shielded and it will heal him for three times the amount of potential damage dealt. At the end of each Absorb Magic he will target all members with Unrelenting Agony. It causes shadow damage and has unlimited range so you will have to heal through it. - If this phase of the fight takes too long, he will repeat phase 2, which means you will have to battle one of your own again to 50% then go back to fighting him Fourth Boss: Ozumat - Reminds me of the Tribunal of Ages in Wrath. - A lot of movement in this fight, at least in the first 2 phases. - Phase 1 starts with zergs of murlocs attacking Neptulon. Four faceless ones will spawn, 3 Vicious Mindlashers(casters) and an Unyielding Behemoth (melee). It’s helpful in this phase, to keep your team close to Neptulon. If your tank is a pally, when the murlocs attack, drop a consecration to draw agro. Throw avenger’s shields at the casters to pull them to you and burn them down with the DPS. When the Behemoth spawns, pull him to the tank and burn him down - Phase 2 is on a timer (hint for it starting is when Neptulon announces more filth is coming) so make sure you get rid of all mobs in phase 1 as quickly as you can. In this phase, your main goal is to bring the faceless sappers (3 of them) as quickly as you can, avoiding the beasts (or kiting them with your tank) and the blight that Ozumat spews at you from time to time. DPS is crucial in this phase. The better the DPS the quicker this phase is over. - Phase 3 starts after the last faceless sapper is dead. In this phase, Neptulon buffs you and it’s a DPS race to bring Ozumat down. Make sure you find him ASAP (or /focus him at the beginning of the fight). He's the giant squid outside the room. You can't miss him ![]() P.S: my 200th post! Nice! Last edited by Janus; 12-27-2010 at 09:45 PM. |

| I love it, especially the opening music, reminds me of Siberian Orchastra doing that one Christmas song! Hey can you link up a transparent PNG of your mouth teeth icon thingy, something that is rectangular, about 3 inches wide by 1.5 inches tall? I'm going to use it on the MB frontpage site when adding articles about your new youtube videos |
