Default WoW Colorblind mode - i am amazed

I saw a bluepost response to someone showing off the new 4.2 colorblind options, and i must say, im amazed with the effort blizzard put into this.

Some of the options look nearly the same as normal, with a minor twist, some are just... different xD, but it obviously took blizzard a lot of time and i very much like it. They added the standard colorblind mode a year or 2 back, but that was hardly more then naming of item quality and such, the new options are a real good thing to me.

So yea.. for once, im actually really impressed with the choices blizzard makes, it doesn't happen often :P

Yea that is very cool, games definitely need to support those who have slight disabilities (though I'm not even sure this would be a disability, aren't things much more descriptive in gray tones anyway?)!

I wouldn't mind seeing a few screenshots!

Quarky question here: Would the colorblind mode reduce the amount of overhead on your CPU/GPU since there are a limited number of colors shown?

To be honest, im thinking its probably same or more instead of less, if i look at the screenshots linked in the post i linked, it looks like it renders the world, then puts a shader over them, it LOOKS like this is done after rendering. To me that makes most sense anyway to insert this many different shaders.
but then again this is not my area of work, so cant say it with certainty

Interesting. I am definitely going to check this out. It would make sense it would take less programming to just render the world, and then do a standard screen filter (ie, if color = red, then color = gray) and such.

But from a performance standpoint, it would make sense to reduce the game to a smaller colorscale (ie, 65k grayscale vs 32 million colorscale) which would dramatically reduce gpu/cpu.

I'll give it a test and document it soon as all my PC stuff is situated.
