Why didn't anyone tell me priest + 4 Mages is fun?

Ok the 5 druid team is ticking me off. So started a 4 mages and priest team. that is good times right there

Guess that won't be able to do heroics though :/

Well, once you outgear the heroic by a long shot, and there are no upgrades from the heroic itself, you might be able to do some. If this is ever the case, badges might be upgrades, even if the instance is not.

I'd tend to think you'd be better off with an alternate, such as a tank which you sub in for one of the mages. You can alternate which mage is subbed out, so they all earn badges etc.

I have no clue what badges are, of the term "outgear".

I'm going to concentrate on this group, so i can at least get someone to high level before i venture out in other areas. It is by far the easiest group to run without lots of macros. I might try Deathknights as a alternate group.

Badges - When you kill bosses, they drop badges which act as a currency you can use to purchase items.

Outgear - When your gear level is much higher that the difficulty of the instance, making it really easy.

Every time Blizzard advances the clock, so to speak, with a new raid tier and another arena season (these are tied together), heroics will typically drop one tier higher badges.

Current expansion heroics used to drop badges which were equivalent to Naxx10 level gear. With the release of Ulduar, a new badge type let you purchase Naxx25 level gear. With the release of ToC, a new badge type let you purchase Ulduar25 level gear. When 3.3 goes live, the new badges will let you purchase gear equivalent to the best that is currently in game (ToC).

All of these badges drop from all of the heroics, and most of the older (this expansion still) raid instances.

By doing heroics (which are very easy), you can gradually acquire badges which allow for the purchase of gear far better then the heroics will drop off of the mobs. So, there is continual motivation for doing heroics, for everyone other then the top arena teams and high-end progression raid guilds.
