What KVM Switch?

I have 2 PCs, used to run 5 accounts on the 1 but since cata its become a bit of a problem to run the all 5.

So 2 Pcs and in need of advice on how to link both up to run 5 accounts.
I dont have a clue about KVM switches and not sure which one i need.

I see some on Ebuyer.com for £20-£30 but then theres others which are £200not really an option paying that much.
The cheapest i can do with for now.

Any ideas what i need to look for?

You could also try Synergy, I've used it before to control multiple PCs. Maybe that would work?

Would you mind going into more detail at what you are looking for, in a dream world? Maybe it is something I could add to Pwnboxer? So literally dream up the perfect feature related to KVM that would be dreamy for YOU!

Well ive just built my first pc. £200 and it runs great, managed 4 wow accounts on it
My main PC i just want that to run my 1 main account without any hit to performance (ive had to lower settings to handle 5 since cata change and its not pretty)

Im running off 1 samsung 24" monitor
I have a samsung 32" HDTV right next this monitor which im experimenting with right now to see how having them run on 2 screens will go.
4 boxes on the left, my main on the right i think i will try.

Basically i would just love to have my 2 PCs which i love, to work together, to allow me to multibox with better performance so i dont have to sacrifice graphic settings and suffer slow FPS

Wondering to that if i hit my keys for each game would that bring it up from the second monitor to the main? soon find out i guess.

Just gave Kavoom a try and seems to be set up fine, mouse moves over to the other monitor etc.
I will check out this Synergy, see what thats like to.

Will Pwnboxer, keyclone or ISboxer allow me to install on 2 PCs
I have all 3 at the moment.

A glaring weakness of PB, would be the lack of network support. The ability to use two PC's for Pwnboxing the masses, instead of being limited to one.

One of the larger selling points of PB, is that a lower end system can handle more accounts better than many of the competition products. But you could handle many more clients across several low end computers, if they supported networking of some form.

That would be a feature I would strongly consider adding in the future.

Yes, i did love the fact pwnboxer ran a whole lot smoother than ISboxer and keyclone.
I moved to pwnboxer from keyclone because i need mouse broadcasting.
But using pwnboxers mouse broadcasting kept crashing the whole thing and no fixes worked so i tried ISboxer.
Its mouse broadcasting works great but ISboxer is alot more complicated at times

At the moment im getting a massive headache trying to get ISboxer setup for running on 2 pcs and 2 monitors.

Head to the IS Boxer site, and ask in the IRC chat.

You'll get real time support there.
Just hang out a little while, as not everyone is looking at the chat all the time.
Or alternatively, make a post on the forums on the IS Boxer site; Lax checks those several times a day and gives phenomenal support.

If you disable instant Swap, then IS Boxer is no more of a drain on system resources as any other boxing software.
But it is the instant swap, that gets the superior mouse broadcasting, so that's something to consider.

Use PB's Method 1 mouse broadcasting in Pwnboxer, its 100% stable and works like a god. When I multibox I literally use it 100+ times a day, you'll love it. Also the new Pwnboxer is having further work done on mouse broadcasting, I'm pretty excited at it.

Also what are your PC Specs? Most average PCs can play 5x WoWs pretty easy with Pwnboxer, which is why it is so strong for boxing WoW. For example, my girlfriend has a PC that is 4 years old that can 5box WoW in Cataclysm just fine. You might want to check into that a bit, give your single computer another shot

Also before you use IS Boxer, you should do a bit of research on his history, especially before you decide to give him money. I personally don't like to support those people who have a strong history revolving around game hacks, cheats, gold farming, etc., and I find that those who also realize this make their choices accordingly.

Even though I own Pwnboxer, I've got no problems by the way giving probs to other multiboxing softwares. Heck, I have paid for Keyclone probably 5 or 6 times myself and even had a lot of phone calls with its creator many times I'm even advising a new guy who is making his own software, who knows, might have another multiboxing software coming sometime soon!

As with anything, check it out for yourself; that's the best advice you can get, as you're more interested in what is best for you than someone else.

Thousand box with IS Boxer without issue, so it is a safe option if you want the multi-PC support. For multiple PC's, your choices are: Hot Key Net, IS Boxer or Keyclone. Of those, IS Boxer is the strongest/most flexible. Hopefully Tim will add network support for Pwnboxer, which would give you another strong option to consider.

It sounds like you already have a Pwnboxer license, so ideally you'd figure a way for Pwnboxer to run as many accounts as you'd like on the best PC you have. Tim did mention the newer version (3.0) which is coming out soon, runs the game better/more smoothly than the previous version... so who knows, your PC might be able to handle more accounts soon than it can now.

You can completely disable Shadows, Weather Effects and such, with /Slash Commands or Config.WTF editing, to levels lower than you can get in game via the Video Options. In particular, View Distance and Shadows are the greatest strain on your system.

The game will let you set a value between 1-5 (with the Slider bar) for Shadows and Weather, but you can disable them entirely via console commands. Quite possibly the game will be playable with five accounts on the one PC, or at least its worth a shot.

This reminds me, I should do another PC Hardware breakdown of the minimum requirements to multibox in Cataclysm. I did an extensive test back with WOTLK, and since Cata changed the graphic engine of WoW so much, I should probably do another one.

I think before the bare minimum to have a good experience on 5x guys was an Intel Duo 8300, which is a pretty old CPU. I wonder what it would be today? The only big difference I see off the top of my head is RAM. Old WoW was around 300 averaged per (more for Dalaran/Org/etc). Now I'm seeing closer to 500ish, but I haven't looked too closely at CPU or GPU changes.

I have a few processors laying around, an E8400, Q9650, I7 920, I7 930, and i7 980. That should give a lot of good systems to judge things by.
