I have a license for keyclone, isboxer and pwnboxer. ISboxer at the moment im trying out Well the £200 basic pc is running on Intel E6500 3gb corsair DDR 2 HD 4300 graphics card Gigabyte G31M-ES2L motherboard Main PC Gigabyte P41T-D3 2GB DDR3 ram (these two are new, were put in yesterday, did have a DFI lanparty with 4GB DDR 2) Intel E8400 Raedon HD 4900 graphics card The motherboard is limited to 4GB of DDR3 which sucks (didnt pick the board myself, shop got sick of waiting for DFI replacement, or i would of had a DFI and my 6GB of DDR2) So i dont think its gonna handle 5 with just 2 GB of DDR3 ram

Yea that main PC of yours has the specs where I've done 5x WoWs pretty smoothly before. For Pwnboxer, try setting the main game to have med graphics at 60fps/60fps, and then make the background games be 30/15 (30 foreground, 15 back) on all of them, and set the graphic slider to LOW. Also, before you do that, start up 1x WoW, turn all the graphic settings to low, then exit it, and then start PB with those settings above. Try that see how it goes. 5x WoW should run unless Cataclysm changed a lot of stuff pretty hardcore.

Well running 5 on the main PC is a no go, lag is awful, even with reduced settings on the main account and thats the one thing i didnt want to do on the main. atleast not by much. It does run a bit smoother over ISboxer. Runs with no lag on on the 2 pcs and 2 monitors only the second monitor (32"HDTV) will only allow a poor resolution of 1024x720 when running wow over the 24" monitors 1920 x1089 res. Cant make anything out (blurry) Also makes repeater regions awful to get right. key repeats cut out and other small niggles. Doesnt look like im going to be able to get 5 accounts running anytime soon

For repeater regions to work accurately, you need instant swap enabled and for each of the clients to be rendered at the same resolution. Doesn't matter how large/small the window that a given client is in, as long as the rendering resolution is the same. I'm surprised it runs smoother on IS Boxer. Unlike every other software option, it renders every screen at the resolution of the main window (assuming Instant-Swap is checked, of course), and then scales the slave windows down in size. Which means literally instant swaps, as everything is already rendered at full size. It also means, working your system harder than other boxing options which render each of the slave regions at the displayed size. Most systems can run multiple clients without issue, but almost any other boxing software would have slightly better performance for the same settings.

I think he was saying it runs a bit smoother OVER it ![]() I like the discussion in this thread, as I'm currently smack dab in the middle of the mathematical side of doing aspect ratios and mouse positioning. It gives me a few ideas on how to do calculations yet preserve system resources.

Going to update this. Sorry for my abrupt stop in posting, i unfortunatley got taken in hospital since boxing day. Im out now ![]() I was meant to ad Running 5 accounts with Isboxer and Pwnboxer are pretty much the same. It ran faster on isboxer because i forgot to lower the resolution from 1920x1080 on the slaves when on pwnboxer. ive always kept all resolutions on all slaves since boxing at this. It took 15 minutes to log into 5 accounts that were all in SW :/ was very painful, watching a very slow slideshow when they finally got in. To me Cata bought with it a big jump in minumum requirements to multibox (but that could just be me and my system) Could be that i only have 2gigs of ram at the moment Before it was 4 gigs of corsair ddr2 800mhz LANPARTY DK P45-T2RS PLUS Now its 2gigs kingston (not my choice i prefer corsair) ddr3 1333mhz Gigabyte P41T-D3 (again not my choice only supports 4gigs to which sucks )Update: Upgraded an extra 2 gigs of ddr3 and my 5 accounts with Pwnboxer work great, not even lag in SW or dala Main is on high settings, 4 alts on low but all 5 resolution are at 1920x1080 Guess the extra ram makes a big difference I think the motherboard itself may need to be the next upgrade, limited to 4GB Ram Last edited by Strom; 01-16-2011 at 11:31 AM.
