Hey everybody! I started multiboxing and so far I like it a lot. I've been experimenting with some class combinations but I think I'd like to do a Paladin (Tank) and a Priest (Healer). I just can't seem to see what macros I could use so I can tank and heal at the same time in dungeons. Any help appreciated! - Knollex

i use bartender and set all set all the keybinds to my liking, then i make 2 macros e.g. my tanks name = billy1 healer name= billy2 Billy1 macro: /castsequence reset=target Hammer of the Righteous,Crusader Strike, Hammer of the Righteous, Shield of the Righteous /cast Judgement /cast Avengers Shield /cast Hammer of Wrath Billy2 Macro: /target Billy1 /cast Greater heal and you put them both on the same button so when you press it your tank attacks and your healer heals you, this is the very basic method, when you get healer up though you mite want to change the healer macro to a different button so your not healing constantly when your tank doesent need it and theres also the aggro situation but im sure you get the idea.

A note also is that you might want to consider main controlling your healer, and alt-ing your tank, since tank and spank is typically easier than healing others. But overally I think if you were to dual box, tank/heals would be one of the more difficult roles. With that said, you are going to que for instances in LFD literally INSTANTLY. I don't think you would even get 5 second wait time, no joke. With that said, I think that perhaps if you did a healer + DPS it would be a lot easier by far. Also you would still que instantly.

| Super Moderator | I would think controlling the tank would be easier, and assign ctrl+number to heal the respective group member. But I do agree with Tim nonetheless, explore heal+dps, it will be quite a bit easier

For tank+spank fights, probably the healer would be easier. Anything that requires facing/positioning, driving the tank would be a better idea. Also, a lot of tanks have click abilities that suit the situation. If you use them intelligently, which would be a lot harder driving the healer, the class is much stronger. I could see someone easily playing any tank, as the driving toon, but good luck with a DK or Warrior as your tank while driving another character. I'd take a look at Repeater Regions for healing. You can do this with Hot Key Net (or IS Boxer has it built in), there's a guide on how to add that to your boxing software, in the guide forum. You get an alphabetical sort of your team, displayed in the same position on every toon. Then can click heal any toon, from any toon. Way stronger and easier than any other healing method.

Thanks for the feedback guys! I decided to make a Tauren Paladin and a Blood Elf Priest. They are both level 10 now and going Prot / Holy. You can watch me level them from 1-60 LIVE at NEKO Gaming on Justin.tv Any more macros I should be aware of? Thanks!

If you want to go with macro based healing entirely... have a combination of both of these types. Type A - Direct Heals #show Renew /cast [target=Paladin'sName] Renew #show Renew /cast [target=Player] Renew #show Greater Heal /cast [target=Paladin'sName] Greater Heal Etc.. Type B - Assist Healing #show Renew /cast [Target=Paladin'sTarget,Help][@Paladin'sTargetTarget,Help][@Paladin'sTargetTargetTarget,Help] Renew You can abbreviate Target= with @ This will heal the target of the Paladin, if that is friendly. But if it is hostile, than it heals the target of the paladin's target, which is usually whatever the mob is beating on. Have one of the assist type macros per heal spell you would like. If you decide to group with strangers, your priest can still heal them by having your tank (paladin) target whoever needs a heal, then going back to the boss. A repeater region healing system, would allow you to heal anyone in your party/battleground/raid, without needing a specialized macro or needing to change targets.. and you could do it from any toon on your team.

Could you break down each step of what that Type B macro does Ualaa please? I've never seen it used like that before, especially with help and that many targets.

/cast [Condition A][Condition B][Condition C] If every condition, within the first bracket is true then that is the target. If even one condition fails, then the macro will attempt to use the second set. The third set is ignored if either previous set works, but is attempted if both A and B fail. [Help] = The target is friendly. @ is the same as Target= #show Renew /cast [Help][Help,@TargetTarget][Help,@TargetTargetTarget] Renew In this one, the spell fires off at the target, if it is friendly (the [Help] condition). If the target is hostile, then it will fire off at the Target of the Target, if that is a friendly (the second set of square brackets). If both previous conditions fail, Renew will land on the Target's Target's Target, provided that is friendly. The third conditional would only ever be true in PvP, if you were targeting an enemy healer who was targeting an enemy player who was targeting a friendly. One way to assist is to use the assist command. /Assist [Target=Whoever] Another way to assist, is to put your assist target right into the cast. /Cast [Target=Whoever'sTarget] or /Cast [Target=FocusTarget] I basically used the imbedded assist, but with Paladin's Name instead of Focus.
