Default Tim why did you make PWNboxer?ou

I was always wondering, why did you decide to make PWNboxer? Since there are a lot of software for multiboxing already there, what gave you the idea?

I just bought PWNboxer and I really like it a lot. I am just curious what gave you the idea.

Not to speak for Tim... but imho... when you find a product that you like, you can easily start to think this is great, but I would have done this or that to make it look better, work faster, it needs this, it doesn't need that. When you find something that you know is a worthwhile venture and you feel that you can build upon the idea and make something more practical and user friendly, people like Tim go for it. Someone who has a vision and jumps at it.

I have used a few multiboxing softwares and I have to say that Pwnboxer has been for me the most updated, most evolving software around. Community feedback means something here. The author of the software actually posts and replies to posts daily.

Anywho... just my humble opinion.

It boils down to.... however many software options there are, you have a finite amount of choices. Each has advantages (product strengths) and areas in which they can improve (weaknesses).

Like any other company, you can look at what you like in your competition and what you would have done differently. You can build a product which you'd like to use yourself, and offer it to the masses.

If you can show a profit from the project, or at least break even on it, that's a bonus. Who doesn't want a job/project where you are paid to do something you enjoy? And of course, if you're doing something you enjoy, you'll put a lot more effort into it too, which shows for a few of the options.

Thanks for the kind words!

I made Pwnboxer because I've been building multiboxing tools for myself for a long time, ever since Ultima Online. My prior tools I wrote mostly using ACTool, but I've always liked the strategic concepts of controlling multiple characters.

WoW was different since things really needed to be easy to use and advanced. Nothing really existed at the time that was featureful and easy to use. One of the things I personally have a strong interest in is building online websites/communities/tools to help people out. Since I didn't see any good multiboxing tools, especially for the new up-and-comer to multiboxing, and couple that with my hobby of creating gaming communities, well, it was no stretch of imagination to create Pwnboxer.

IF anything, being the CEO of Wowhead.com delayed Pwnboxer by quite some time. I remember sitting in my office with my developers working on some advanced ACTool code extensions, realizing that while it was easy to use, I needed to go the route of something else. I shelved the idea behind making a multiboxing software for a year or 2, but eventually got on top of it.

That's bout it
