Default Suggestions? new 1x DK 4x Priests team

Hi all, I am new to the multiboxing community, found out about the whole thing after experiencing a 4x shammy team own an entire BG almost single handedly, had to find out how he was doing that. lol So, I started out thinking about what I wanted to play. I was originally thinking about a pally and priests team after watching a very nice vid of a hellfire run by the same combo, but, Ive tanked instances and raids as a dk for a while now and know the class very well so I decided to just go with that since it would be more enjoyable for me. I already had an 83 priest and just used RAF to level 3 more to 60, they are 61 after a few ramps runs with the dk.

My questions would be, what are some usefull macros for priests? I have been using the docked icons to set up heals for each one kind of like helium is set up, but theres not really enough room, do you guys use an icon for each heal per person or target the toon and use a generic heal button common to all? Next question would be for dps, it seems holy fire, smite, and holy nova are the only options, Im thinking that for single targets Ill make a HF/smite macro and for multiple ill just spam nova, opinions?

Any other advice anyone has would be more than welcome, thanks for the help!

So far my idea will be to spec the 4 priests Disc, use a few shadow spells and the buffed holy spells for dps, then go a little ways into holy to get the buff to renew and use a sustained renew from all 4 to keep the tank going, then they can spam nova when things get a little rougher and still do damage.

If your goal is instances, you will want a tank capable character... the DK fits this role well.
You'll also either need three characters who can heal in their DPS spec/form, or one dedicated healer in a healing spec; either approach is as valid and successful as the other.
You can mix classes for PvE rather easily if you want to run five different classes, especially with the implementation of two-step DPS macros; unfortunately I cannot link to them, but you can google Mercurio Two Step, for those.

If your goal is PvP, the fewer classes you have the better, as it is rather hard to sync everything properly.
You're much better off managing cooldowns manually, having four/five of the same class each manually push ability one together.
In general you're best off with the DPS being all ranged or all melee, you can either go 5x DPS or 4x DPS + 1x Healer, or a similar mix (3x DPS, 2x Heals).
The DK is a weak link, on an otherwise all ranged team in PvP.



The top PvP team this expansion is 4x Death Knights (Frost) with 1x Healer (Anything other than a Druid rocks in BG's, go Priest/Paladin for Arena).

Frost has two rotations for DPS: a) Howling Blast > Frost Strike > Necrotic Strike; and b) Obliterate > Frost Strike.
They can do Hungering Cold, on round-robin, to point-blank CC others... which combines excellently with the single target Obliterate.
Anti-Magic Shell reduces spell damage taken and prevents the application of most effects that give a debuff icon... Icebound Fortitude breaks any Stun and makes you immune to Stuns... Pillar of Frost makes your DK's immune to knockbacks... Trinket breaks everything... Lichborne breaks Fear/Charm/Sleep and makes you immune to those effects.
Death Grip, renders the team immune to Snare/Root effects as you bring them to you... plus Howling Blast snares (via Glyph and Frost Talents) as well as anyone else can snare you, so at worst you're the same speed and they're in melee.
Combine that with any healer... Pally has bubble for at least 10-12 seconds of healing... Priest can be Holy and heal after dying as a Spirit, when gearing up.
The team is a one-minute team in arena; if you don't drop a DPS (pick a target that cannot bubble/iceblock/deterrance/immunity-effect) almost immediately, you won't likely win but if you do you'll almost certainly win very fast.



This expansion, a lot of people have experimented with 2x Heals, 1x Tank, 2x DPS, for PvE.

If you were to run a Druid healer doing Wild Growth and Rejuvenation on the party, with Moonfire/Insect Swarm and the odd nuke on the enemy (only dot bosses), with a dedicated healer for the tank (Disc Priest, Holy Pally), you'd basically only need to care about movement or the bosses gimmick in heroics.

Another composition that works for PvE, in the same idea is: Tank, 2x Holy Pally, 2x DPS.
Each Pally self heals via Protector of the Innocent, and heals a DPS via Beacon; they can alternate heals on the tank for longevity or both heal the tank to get through burst.

The double healer teams will lose to any enrage timer like event, as it is a substantial dps cut.
However, the teams have successfully cleared almost everything and that was immediately before the dungeons were nerfed/fixed.

A traditional team with 3x DPS will clear content a lot faster, but will require a lot more management of heals.
The last two expansions I was very successful with a Prot Pally, Demo/Destro Warlock and 3x Elemental Shaman (who combined with Lesser Healing Wave.. ie Complete Heal or Chain Heal).



You can go with both a PvE and a PvP team; it doesn't have to be the same set of toons.

Also take a look at the Recruit a Friend program, on the WoW homepage.
You link a new account to an existing account.
The process is:
- From account management, send an RAF email invite to your own email.
- Use the email to make the account, using the code it gives you.
- Use a retail (or downloaded electronic version) of the game to upgrade to a full install.

You'd generally want to link A > B > C > D > E.
If you have two existing accounts link like this: A > B > C and D > E (A/D being existing accounts).

RAF gets you 3x normal experience from kills/quests until 60th, and lets you grant (give levels to the referring account), plus you get a free two-seater mount on the referring account and a month free when the new account upgrades to a retail copy of the game.

Hmm that gives me alot to think about. The problem will be that since I plan to go with all 4 priests healing that will also mean that if I use em for their truest DPS form theyll have to drop shadow form constantly to heal.. Gonna look into that, thanks!

I find it quite profficent healing with a shaman with my team on blackrock. Pally, two mages (shoulda done a priest in there instead of a mage, but mages are ooom!) warlock, and shaman. I have healbot on my shaman so when i need a heals i just mouse over it on the slave window and click the appropriate button to heal. Cause the window is 1/10th the size of my main window its pretty small by default, so what I do is blow healbot up to 2x its normal size. That way the bars are clear so I don't send the heal to the wrong toon.

With priests however, if you spec discipline you will have the dps while healing option. I have yet to roll a priest team but thats one of the things I am keeping in mind. Tim rolled 3 priests on another server that he used to heal randoms with, all three priests were Disc.
