| I thought this would be the best place to ask since the community is based on multiboxing perhaps there are people knowledgeable about multistreaming. (I just made that word up. hopefully that makes sense.) I know how to stream using VHScrCap + FMLE in part thanks to Tim's detailed tutorial. One streamer, one channel - not a problem. But let's say you have two streamers and you'd like to switch back and forth between their content. Is there a way to control which streamer is sending his info to the channel to be broadcasted. My thought for how this could work is to have an intermediate server between the streamer and the streaming website. So lets say we have Streamer A and B, Personal Server, and Streaming Service (like ustream or JTV). Streamers A and B broadcast using FMLE to the Personal Server which has a program running that will relay the RTMP stream to the Streaming Service. The program can be used to relay either stream A or B and thus gives control to the channel producer. Hopefully I explained myself properly, but if I didn't please let me know and I'll attempt to clarify. Thanks for reading this far. |

| Super Moderator | You can achieve this by giving the second person your Stream ID. They would then place that in their xml file. Keep in mind that the risk of compromising your channel increases with each person you share your ID with, so do so with caution.

| Ah, re-reading my original post I can see that I wasn't clear, my apologies. I'm looking for a solution in which the source is changed immediately during a broadcast. For instance, lets say Streamer A is playing videos and music, while Stream B is running a game of WoW. For the majority of the broadcast I want the B feed but during breaks I want the content from A. I know it is possible for each person to stop their stream and for the other one to resume, but then there would be a break in the continuity of the broadcast. Does this make more sense? |

| Actually you can give other broadcasters access to stream to your channel without giving them your JTV ID now. This was added per my recommendation about a month ago, its in your JTV stream settings, just put in the email address and it will send somebody else a key to stream to your channel. As far as changing sources that are not on the same physical machine, yes you can do this, but you need to centralize the streaming to a single machine and do the switch yourself. I've done it before, its possible, just something you have to create. So you would have each broadcaster stream to a centralized location, and then the machine that is doing the streaming must then do the switch. The centralized location could be a PC of your own, or it could be JTV, with you then viewing the JTV feed and re-broadcasting as a source switch. Sup Absentis |
