Special platform for multiboxers? Is this true?

Hello All,

I've been Multiboxing since August last year, got a priest/4 hunters team at 80 now and working(lvl'ing) on a pally/4shamans team now on Terokkar EU server.
Since I started i've had little or no problems from other players whispering me names or how they threathen to 'report' me as being a 'cheater.
But the last 2 days one person in particular is acting very hostile towards me and he did report me as being a cheater.

He said he had a long conversation with a GM and that the GM confirmed that multiboxing isn't illegal as long as you don't use software to 'automate' your char's actions or movement( which i don't).
I use pwnboxer btw.

Now he claims at the end of our 'conversation' that Blizzard is working on a platform for multiboxers so that we can multibox and stay within the format of the game that all other players have to adhere to.
They would do that to strongly discourage us playing that way ever again, and in fact try to remove multiboxing entirely from the game.
He also mentioned that there are forums where you can 'sign up' against multiboxing players and try to eliminate it, which he ofcourse is now a 'proud' member from.

Has any of you ever heard of such rumors of Blizz creating a seperate platform and do such forums or websites exist against multiboxing?
Or is he just so frustrated he 'wishes' such things exist?

I think hes talking a load of crap personally, He simply got told by blizzard that he was wrong in saying it was illegal and now hes just trying to worry you with probible fake things that the GM said.

I will go now and open a ticket with a GM and I'll see what they say about it.

He is just talking crap. Think about what he said for a moment.

You can't discourage multiboxing unless you change the way the game is, mainly ability to use macros. That is the bread and butter of multiboxing.

Blizzard would not remove macros or keybindings, to many people depend on it.

Now if they made it where only one instance of wow.exe could be opened at a time, they would be another issue. But they make to much money off multiboxers, nevermind the fact we don't harm anything in game being one.

Heres a question, When you start multiboxing do you copy your wow dir 4x to different locations or is there a way to use just the one install of wow if so how?

If you use Pwnboxer (like you mentioned) when you setup the path for each game just point them all at the same WoW.

I agree I believe the GM is full of it as I'm pretty sure I would have heard of this from the GMs who are members of this very website. Maybe that GM got ganked a few times himself

Seems sketchy. I don't think blizz would put anything in place to stop multiboxing, considering some GMs multibox themselves. I believe some even use Pwnboxer.
