| Blizzard recently finally stated that doing Arenas was a mistake. I couldn't agree more. WoW is about real PVP, which is world PVP, not fighting in a box. At least, that is what it is to me. For me, arena is about getting gear, nothing else, I can't stand it ![]() So the question: How many of you actually like doing arenas? How about multibox style, do you like doing it there? |

| Warcraft was envisioned and coded as an entirely PvE game. Somewhere shortly before beta, due to fan input they implemented PvP. It was a tacked on system at the time. As far as PvE goes, you can track "rating" by what a given guild can kill. If you are skilled/geared enough to beat something, its loot is the reward. But it takes many runs for everyone to be geared, which is a mechanism to keep us playing the game longer. It was much harder to track progression in PvP. The old system (with ranks) rewarded time invested as the only measure of pvp rank -- you could lose 90% of the BG's and be ranked higher then someone who won 90% if you played 6 hours a day and they only played 3 hours a day. Arena is an interesting concept. It is easy to track who is better then whom. But most of the player base uses it for gear. Not because they enjoy it. If you could have the same gear from BG's and Arena, I think Arena would slowly die. I play my 10 arena games each week. For the points. Most weeks I queue, but don't even enter. Arena is not fun for me, but I'm mainly a PvE player who enjoys BG's. I find arena video's to be the most interesting to watch. |

| i dont really bother with arena, if i had to bother, it would be for obtaining the good loot wich is rated 1600+ and i will never get that rating so therefor i dont really bother much about it cant really see the point in doing 10 arenas for the lose, but i must say im deffo gonnam try it when i ding 80 on my shammans

| It's not that hard to get arena gear in the 1800-1900 range. The process is pretty simple. A) Run dailies every single day, on every team that can. B) Lose your 10 games a week, every week without fail. C) When you have a lot of arena points saved, offer to pay 2k (whatever the price is on your server), to join a 3's with your one toon and run games that evening until you hit 1850. D) Purchase your stuff. |

| I agree I generally cant stand arenas. Its dam near impossible to just jump in and have fun, if you havnt done a TON of PVP and specificaly arena pvp you just get slaughtered. Dispite everything blizz tries to do balance the classes they still arent (and frankly i dont think they ever will be). For example, rogues.... you cant kill them. Unless you happen to have your pvp trinket available, if a rogue gets to you (which you cant prevent btw, as apperently they are immune to AoE damage effects while stealthed... beats me how thats possible) you cant stop them, your stunned indefinetly until your dead. There are other examples I just particurally get annoyed by rogues! lol At least in BGs there is "safety in numbers" its less about what one class or one person can do and about team work.

| The team will boot you once you get to whatever rating you agreed on. So you'd repeat with each of your toons. It's a decent way for 2 geared players, from a top team to make some gold. You might get a discount, if you mention you'd like their services five nights in a row. Gold is never really an issue with a boxer. Dailies aren't exactly exciting, but most of us who have been boxing a while have multiple toons at the gold cap ~214k. |
