Default So how many of you have seen RIFT?

Okay so yesterday I watched some RIFT streams on Justin.tv while I was working, and really guys the game seems VERY refined. In fact, I would say it is the only refined MMO that has come out since WoW became huge.

Has anybody else seen it?

Here are some videos:

Just a few to show it off.

The game really has that RPG feel to it, something I'm pretty excited about.

I can't wait for the game I'm going to pre order it right now I played this weekend and from what I played it was fun. It was like playing wow for the first time. And I love the class system so much there is so much choise in what u can be. Ie dps tank healer debuffer or a mix of the 4. This looks like the game I will stop playing wow for well until star wars tor is out sometime in the spring.

Have not checked it out.

Warcraft is still fun, and there are things to do.
My philosophy is to not really look for a replacement, until I want to replace something.
And since I'm having fun in wow still...

As good as Starcraft 2 is, I'm not playing it.
Same with several other titles I've picked up.

I was playing it all weekend, it is nice and looks good so far. It is scheduled for release in March at this point.

As for multiboxing it, idk how well that will work as you can really customize each individual character. Unlike wow, you can choose 3 of the 8-9 different tree's to choose from and can choose how to spend points in each one like the old wow tree's used to be.

The macro's work the same as in wow as far as I can tell, but they would not let anyone have more than one beta key, even with multiple accounts. They were running a test on ip addresses and if more than one from the same ip came up, both got a suspension from the beta. The graphics are more intense than wow has, so the gpu might be a concern with multiboxing. Generally, if you play wow on ultra settings, you could play Rift on Medium settings, unless you play on a beast of a computer, but you get the general idea.

I haven't read up on the lore behind the game yet, but was thinking where they could possibly go once the boss is killed behind the rifts...and what happens to the lower level characters once the rifts stop? Is there another boss that starts creating the rifts after that? I just don't see how the game could possibly advance past the stage it is in at the moment. All in all, it is Burning Crusade with a twist and better graphics, and a slightly different professions system. The professions work the same as wow, and they have similar things, like leatherworking and tailoring = outfitting, skinning = butchering, enchanting = runecasting, etc. with the only notable exception being armorsmithing and weaponsmithing being two separate professions and weaponsmithing can make every weapon except wands and staves(made by runecasters).

I am going to play WoW and RIFT.

Pre-Ordered after reading a lot, hearing a lot, and just curiosity of the streams and it looking really polished.

I played this last weekend, and I must say, it's by far the best beta yet. Seeing as it's only a few months till launch, it's definitely going to take some of the pvp'ers from other games over to it.

Overall, it's like Warhammer Online warfronts + AION World PvP with the RIFTs overseeing the entire process.

I was surprised really for the first day. I was sitting there at level 12 and suddenly there was this big emote and quest was auto-accepted. Kill 12 rift creatures.

I was like, ok:

/4 LFG Rift Raid

got an invite, and went on my way. I was a cleric and just ended up healing people, but I got the 'top end rewards' regardless by healing. Orbs of whatever, and they allowed me to get some of the higher blue gear for my level after the 2nd day of beta.

The zone invasions are really what sells me. In Warhammer, each zone has to do something in order to gain access to the main capital. But what if no one is doing the other zones... ya.

Here, you kill a zone boss, get rewards for that zone level. So if you are wanting to kill a zone boss, do it. if you don't, goto the next higher one and do that one. It really is a "omg something is going on, I must stop it." feeling, when 7 rifts open up within 2k yards of where you are, and you join a group to go close them.

It's simply amazing, and you don't _have_ to be in a group either. You can do/get just a good of rewards if you are solo. Just participate.

I was in last weekends beta event. I'm likely skipping this game unless they can fix the bugs with the game's default action bar. Currently the game does not allow you to right click on action bar abilities to activate them yet requires you to right or left click on other game elements such as quest text boxes and or quest items.

The immediate lack of fluidity with actually playing the game using the presented interface i found undesirable very early.

You have a link about that? Because I've heard the exact opposite, that you can simply log in and play and the game starts easily 2 times at once, and you can log in with 2x Betas.

Isn't left click the normal click operation for an action bar?

I am sure this will be possible, but for the last weekend, and I do not know why, if they found 2 games running from the same ip, they suspended both accounts from play for the duration of the beta event. Maybe they were just testing something specific this weekend, I do not know.

That came across as a system message during the weekend, so it is a possibility that someone hacked the server,or opened multiple instances for mal-aligned purposes, or was botting even, there was no reason given for why that message came across. I didn't know anyone that got booted if that did happen.
