Default Site Problems

Hey guys,

Today my service provider had some absolutely insane issues, ranging from internal misconfigurations, to forcing bad speeds to all their customers, to server IP addresses no longer being assigned, basically all sorts of stuff.

The result was downtime today from approx 6:30am CST to approx. 1:55pm CST. Things are up now, but only at about 1/3 the capacity. I doubt you'll notice anything, but still, it is not yet 100%. I don't anticipate any more issues except a potential switch/router reboot which might take 5 minutes. In the very most, these issues should resolve themselves by Sunday (tomorrow).

Because this issues suck really bad, I'm evaluating some backup/contingency plans for this sort of stuff to not have such an impact. I've never had this sort of issue before, but you never know...

Cheers yo!

Update: Looks like my service provider firewalled ALL traffic on my router by accident before they left. I just disabled it, now it looks like its working again. GRRR

I have several firewalls ofc The problem was my service provider put a firewall on THEIR equipment, and the firewall setting was BLOCK EVERYTHING OF TIMS which of course, well, it blocked everything.

~7hours of downtime out of something like 3+ months, compare that against Blizzard being down ~10hrs/week for me (Blackrock) and often more for patches.

Blizzard needs to pay me the monies to show them how
