| Just curious, has anybody ever managed to play WoW off a USB memory stick? |

| People have tried it on the other site. The performance sucks, and the gameplay is not fun. But it's a fast way to transfer the game, without needing to patch everything. Copy it to its new home, run the repair utility, and the registry is updated for the new location. |

| Yea you're probably right. I have an Intel Atom UMPC that I bought a while ago that just hangs around, was thinking to see if WoW loads up on it |

| I think one of the main problems with running WoW off of a USB stick is the overhead from the USB bus its-self. Being that its only 480 Mbps you have an overhead that will be non-existent when USB 3.0 hits mainstream. As for right now the fastest sticks I have seen only flow at read speeds of up to 34MB/sec. and write speeds of up to 28.6MB/sec and that was the Corsair Voyager GTR series.
