Default Reporting spam messages, 10 min delay.

On the other boxing site, I can report a message as spam once every 60 seconds.
On multiboxing, I can only report a message once every 600 seconds.

I realize, once a user has had a single post reported a mod/admin can ban the user and remove all of their posts... so a given user only needs to be reported once.

However, this is the second time in the last month where two or more different user names have spammed/advertised.

Unfortunately, there is the delay in being able to report their activities.

I only once got an e-mail about a spam message. I'll just have to use my spambuster program more.

Are you talking about reporting spam on this site? Not to sound obtuse, but how do you do that? Maybe I don't see it as my other admin tools overshadow it?

I'll be happy to increase the timer, if I can just realize what you're talking bout

There is a exclamation icon (black) on a white background triangle with a red outline.
This is under the Post Count for each user.

Clicking that, should send notification to admins that a post is bad.
Assuming a given admin wants notification... or has it set to notify them, presumably by email.

Also, it seems that spam bots are using PMs now, as Ualaa has reported one to me.

Spam reporting is 60 seconds now; unfortunately with the Russian link and text, plus the information on women's sporting equipment messages... I've already tested it.

Thanks for the heads up again. Since we are getting spammed more and more, I've done a few things to tighten and restrict SPAM bots on the forum in PMs. It is hard for me to test, but hopefully over the next few days or w/e we will see an improvement.

Yeah, I was reading older years old threads that had "new" posts in it, then realized at the very end was some spam messages so I reported it, I to experienced what Ualaa is saying, that after reading the next thread, there was a different bot posting and I couldn't post since there was a 10 min timer. I have on my website a spam blocker, but I don't get enough traffic yet since its new and our business is still young. Though through the years I wouldn't be surprised If I have to tighten the hatches.

But on a positive note, it serves to reaquaint the users with some valuable information from a newly *bumped* thread.
