Question for Tim

I was wondering Tim, if you are going to expand to BC or Wotlk on your 4 new accounts?

You mean right away or initially?

I'm still doing the early planning, not entirely sure on how I am going to do things. I typically start with vanilla WoW, and then once I'm closer to 40 upgrade to all the expansions.

In the past, I always bought the Battle Chest and later on upgraded to the king, which I might do.

The current battlechests seem to be at greatly reduced prices.

I am purely speculating, but would guess new battlechests will become available once Cataclysm has launched and all the old battlechests have sold.

I'd guess these will be Classic + BC + WotLK, ie - follow the Everquest model of the Base Game + All Expansions except for the current.

Good point about the possible new battle chests with all three expansions (excluding Cat) when Cat comes out and also good point that the battle chests might be lowered too. That is something I am definitely going to consider.

If they have a christmas sale, I might by 5-20 Battlechests and use those, so yea good idea.

I definitely will Tim and yes too on Blackrock, I might wait until after Cat comes out when money is not an issue and maybe the battlechests will be lowered. So it might occur sometime in Dec or in Jan after Dec 7.

I am 100% definitely starting my new teams when Cata comes out, so I'm going to hold off a bit on multiboxing for another few weeks.

The excitement is definitely building a TON

Do you plan on buying all of the WoW games and its expansions? That is alot of money right off the bat -- the battlechests = 40 * 5 = 200; Lich King = 40 * 5 = 200 and Cat = 40 * 5 = 200 ---> i am looking at close to 800 to 1,000 if I get them all at one whack. I thinking of the battlechests at first, then lich king in a month or so, and cat thereafter. Just curious and interested in your opinions or plan.

The Battlechest seems a much better option, then going Classic + Burning Crusade.

Initially, you won't have a level 55 (unless you do a character transfer, which is added cost), so there is on advantage to having Wrath of the Lich King; that opens up Death Knights and raises the level cap.

I'd probably do Battlechests with RAF. And get a ton of combinations to 60th. Towards the end of RAF, or once you have every combination that is of interest (and possibly several that aren't -- both for tradeskills, if they remain uninteresting, or for future teams where you decide you'd like to play class 'x'...), then upgrade to Wrath.

Ditto for Cataclysm, although that opens Worgen/Goblins, so you might want to upgrade to that sooner, depending on desired races. Not sure if you'll have to upgrade in the correct order, most likely that will be a requirement... since each expansion is a level cap increase and not just new races or classes.
