UP: I go up the right side, there is a short chain fence, I am on the right side of that the whole way down, I don't move my followers out of there until Skadi is dismounted. Frost won't reach there... take your time, if you kill fast enough you can actually drink water between the pairs coming out (once you've killed all the guys that start out already in the hallway). Then time the harpoons, do 2 harpoons the first time, run back to your main group, kill pairs, until you know the next set out will be double melee, run up, harpoon... really try to unload aggro on Skadi so when he goes whirlwind he doesn't whirlwind to your group. When you are ready to shoot the third harpoon. line your guys up in the hallway facing the harpoons. If you do lose whirlwind aggro on the boss, just back your group straight down the hallway, he whirlwinds slower then backup speed. Oculus is a huge pain, but I was able to make my dudes follow my main when on the dragons so for me the real trick was the final boss, as it just seems to be a spamathon. I over geared it, came back, rode 5 red drakes to the boss... spam dps and evasion. Skadi is a real good test of group coordination and some independent movement. Really doable on normal and heroic, but one of the more challenging ones, it felt like one of my first real WoTLK instance successes.

Thanks much Longshot, going to give this a try next time I hit the Pinnacle. I'll let you know how it goes. Looking forward to doing as many heroics as I can before the expansion hits and leveling begins again...

Ok, got everyone to 80th and figured I'd do a few heroic bosses just to see what I could do with lvl187 gear (and a few 200s and some lower pieces). Prince Keleseth: Pretty much like running this with a group of 72s or so. Trash up to K was straightforward, just had to get heals going a little earlier. Keleseth was easy, just nuke, kill a couple of Frost Tombs and AoE aggro the skeletons. Dropped the tank sword for me, which was perfect. Sseratus: Wiped first time since I didn't know range of poison nova. Downed him no problems 2nd time just by keeping everyone but tank at range. Dropped the cloth shoes, a nice upgrade for my mage from some ilvl155 shoes. Moorabi: Ran out and flew over to other entrance for Moorabi. Accidentally pulled all of the trash by a mistargeting error, so had to take down 5 at once. This went fine. Moorabi was simple, didn't feel much different than regular difficulty. Dropped a melee dps item that I couldn't use. Eck: Nice bonus just a short walk from Moo, with only 6 or so trash mobs in between. Downed him on the first try, took a little healing on the clothies but no big deal. Dropped a dps plate chest. While at the bank , I picked up the Forge of Souls quest and figured I'd go see what it's like. Decided to try some trash mobs and did fine on them. Ended up killing Bronjham on the first try (mage died almost immediately due to mishealing on my part, so I 4-manned him). Got Lucky Old Sun (tank mace), so big upgrade to tank. Trash mobs dropped Titanium Links of Lore (tank belt), so I got 2 nice tank upgrades from 25 minutes in FoS. Wiped horribly on Devourer of Souls twice and decided I'd just run Bronj repeatedly til I have all the goodies I can use from him. Anyhow, very pleased with the performance on what I've done so far. Really liking the mixed 5-man team. Justice Points come pretty slowly though... it'll be a while before I can buy any points gear.

The cost of gear is balanced against the pace we'll acquire Justice Points at 85th. Unfortunately, at 80th we earn points much slower then at 85th.

Thanks Ualaa, that makes sense. I thought that under the old badge system I'd be getting gear quicker, so it makes sense now that they've retuned it for 85. Unfortunately this makes the ilvl245+ stuff seem like a relatively bad deal compared with the effort...

Still working through the Frozen Halls 5 man dungeons on regular difficulty. I've done a few heroics, but with better drops and the farmability of the first boss each in FoS and PoS I'm trying to grab all the ilvl219 stuff I can and bank a few Justic Points. As of now, have Bronjam (Forge of Souls) and Garfrost (Pit of Saron) on farm. Devourer of Souls (2nd boss, FoS) is still problematic, but I've downed him 3 times so I think I'm working my way up the learning curve. Ick & Krick are tough, but I've gotten them down 2 times in a row now so I think they are close to being farmable. Tyrannus ate my tank several times in a row, so I'm going to have to do some reading on him. After about 10 days of gearing up and buying a couple of justice points items, the regular heroic boss fights are getting easy (gear scores went from ~1800 to ~3300 in that time). For simple tank & spank fights on regular wotlk dungeons I hardly have to heal. Mobility & survival fights are tricky, but definitely getting better at those. I love my warlock in those fights. Anyhow, a lot of the level 80 content is easy at this point, but there's still the rest of the Frozen Halls, then again on Heroic.

Once you get nice and geared everything becomes a cakewalk and you start turning you eyes towards the raids.

Broomba: Never recorded anything due to 1. Don't know how and 2. I'm kind of a suck player. If you get anything out of my progress it should be that it's very doable by anyone. Tim: I'll see about making a new team over there to check it out. I've got everyone on my original realm and it's not what it used to be in terms of community. EatCarbs: Definitely can see a little of that happening already. Last time I did a raid was in MC, just after BWL came out. It sucked due to time commitment and the personalities of the people who raided. I'll have to give it another chance sometime, but will probably start developing a pvp team.
