We are no longer limiting what multiboxing applications are allowed to be discussed here.

You are free to discuss any and all multiboxing software applications to any extent you desire. Blatant advertising without *expressed consent* will be dealt with by mods.

The change has come about in a decision by Ellay and I (with some insight from Lax) that in order to provide a better community experience in helping people make informed decisions about what they're purchasing.

Until today, Pwnboxer was a topic we did not welcome.

Today we welcome informational and intelligent discussion about any multiboxing application on the market. However we still do not allow blatant advertising unless expressly approved by Ellay (or myself).

I didn't understand this or that way why such limitations have been in place (ok, economically I understand, but if you call a site "community" to any topic... in this case I don't).

Lets just leave it that beyond economics, there was a history and its in the past. We've all grown past it. Lets look to the future.

Yea somebody told me about this, there was some internal discussions on DB. The consensus is that they could better trash talk Pwnboxer/me if they stopped censoring things.

Case in point: There is a post on the DB site "[Pwnboxer] My experience with PwnBoxer" whereas somebody is claiming the user posted about something and was immediately banned, and apparently this happened 2 days ago.

The mods on this site can also vouch for this, there was never a user banned on this site for speaking their mind about their experience with Pwnboxer. That post essentially is a complete lie used to attempt and discredit Pwnboxer.

Lets not forget that the IS Boxer programmer emailed and PM'd me, wanting to ditch the DB site as a whole due to his sales being 1/10th of Pwnboxer, and wanting to embrace whichever MB/DB site provided him with the largest increase of sales.

Don't be fooled, the DB site is working with IS Boxer and is basically using this un-censorship as a way for them to further trash talk my contributions to the gaming world, and try and increase the sales of the software they are paid to promote.

One of the DB users summed it up pretty good in one post:

Quote:
Its pretty easy to see that there is/was an alternate motive besides just being to talk about pwnboxer now. Me thinks Lax had financial incentive and or DB.com
The DB owners/admins back this up:

Quote:
Dual-Boxing currently has 3 methods of Income. Google ads... Keyclone referrals, and from ISBoxer.
Quote:
The decision was based on money. It was based on who multiboxers give their money to.
It is pretty easy to understand why they removed discussion of Pwnboxer (they wanted greater sales of keyclone/ISBoxer), and why they suddenly allow discussion of Pwnboxer (they can be more open in trashing Pwnboxer, trying to yet again increase their keyclone/isboxer sales).

I'm all for community, as my history in gaming has demonstrated. I've built 3 guild hosting systems, Wowhead, ZAM, MB, guide sites, news sites for UO, AC, SWG, and more. However, the community is best served when all truths are disclosed, not just ones that benefit you financially.

On the topic of earnest concern for the community, if that is truly what the DB site wanted, then they should contact me and together we should be able to come together with something truly central and neutral.

Basically, if you have a product which you want to succeed, whatever it is, you will promote it to your hearts content. You really dont do your own products justice ny trash talking anothers, as you only expose the sleasyness of your marketing strategies. Being a business person myself, and having 10 years experience in carpentry trades, i have some exposure the workings of business, sales and representing your product. Basically, by maintaining a stance of proffessionalism you can state with demonstration of what your product can do without putting down the compitition, and your costumer will not be put off by what your product has to offer.

I wasn't around when the disputes were going on, but I have heard what happened in summary, and the fact that DB was smash talking PB only shows that they were less about the community and more about sales. Granted the world runs on money and we need it to eat. However, being dirty about your methods aren't good business tactics. I know for a fact that if I told my customers who walked through my doors that our competition are my rivals, they might question the way I conduct business, and therefore loose customers to the competition because negative publiciy is in fact positive publicity because you mentioned the name.

I just hope that we can just come together as a whole community to support one another. I know that I have found some good info on the DB site, just hope we can co-exist as one community even if there are two sites. I've not seen any negative talk about ISBoxer, and I even considered using it myself, however I have purchased two licenses, one for each laptop and desktop and I am familiar with it, and happy with what it does for me. I'm sure the community has enough multiboxers out there to support both major players. (sorry keyclone to me your product takes too much to setup, good as it may be, still got love for you).

So to conclude, were all playing games. Why? To have fun. It's not fun when there is bickering and people wrecking the fun for others. Let's just Ll get along so we can have fun pwning newbs, fraging punks, Nd just overall having a good time!

Ps: written from my iPhone so sorry for any grammatical or spelling errors. I hate the spellcheck of smart phones lol

Half the community of DB.com also reads/participates here and vice-versa.
Stop acting like it's 2 separate "Communities".

It's 2 separate websites, true, but it's the same unique community of people, enjoying the same hobby, multiboxing.

Now, which website is tellling the lies, i dont' know. I was quite surprised to see an Arena video of Aelli, claiming that he uses Pwnboxer and with a direct link to purchase Pwnboxer... sigh ... when Aelli/Ellay is actually the guy behind DB.com.

In the end, i think a more open/transparent platform is necessary. I disliked the fact that Pwnboxer was censored on DB.com (but this has now been removed) and I also dislike that DB.com links are censored on this website here.

Tim, if you're all for the community as you say, why do you censor links that could lead people to other useful posts? Is this because that might make you lose some customers?
basically you're doing the same thing as DB.com (was doing). It's all for money. On DB.com and MB.com.

Guys, don't be fooled indeed.
Don't be fooled by DB.com, and don't be fooled by MB.com.
The grass isn't greener on the other side, it's the same grayish color everywhere.
Just make sure you understand what you read when you read it.

cheers,
Zub

I'm not sure what you are referring to on Youtube, I only have the Pwnboxer channel, and god knows, I don't post videos often.

But realistically, I've always said, and always continue to say, my door is open for talks from everybody. Maybe what needs to happen is for the people on the DB site to start really putting their hands where their mouths are and think about coming together under 1 community banner?

Realistically, I've probably spent (edited the real dollar amount, lets just say it is really high) more on Pwnboxer/MB than I've made, so its not a matter of money. There are far more things I could do to generate $$ (which, I am doing). Multiboxing to me is extremely fun and just something I love. Since my business models intersect strongly with the field of multiboxing, this is why I have programs/websites in that area.

Hopefully that made sense since I'm super tired when I wrote it

EDIT: Apparently the DB site has blocked me still. So much for them saying they aren't censoring things about me...

EDIT #2: Apparently the DB site has a thread up saying I am banned for creating multiple accounts to email spam them? Haha, that is a load if I ever heard one. How the heck do you email spam a forum anyway? Oh well, so much for them trying to appear "neutral" by the lies they spread.

The video i was referring to is YouTube - Multiboxing using pwnboxer 2200+ rating
might be you, might not be you, but it points to pwnboxer

If i recall correctly, the DB.com website existed way before MB.com...
If anything, MB.com created the 'split'.

They've stopped censoring talk about Pwnboxer, they never said they would un-ban all the banned members.

From memory, this was when you created the Tim and Evilseed (and other?) accounts, and sent PMs all around, or something. You probably know better than i do ;-)
