Default New hunter multiboxing power in Cata with "Move To" commands?

Hunters are getting the ability to make their pets "Move To" specific locations. The potential here for multiboxing hunters seems really cool, especially if your hunters can hide and have stealthed pets.

Imagine 5x hunters putting 5x pets by an AB flag and just hanging back and chilling out.

So what do you think, some big multiboxing potential here?

The intrepid Boubouille over at MMO-Champion has unearthed another beautiful gem in the Cataclysm beta. Namely? The Move To button. This command is fairly simple on the surface but will add a plethora of options to pet classes. (The pet classes, of course, are hunters, death knights, warlocks and mages.) When you press the button, you get a ground target reticle. Move the reticle where you wish your pet to stand, click your mouse and the pet goes there. And then it stands. That's pretty simple, right?

In PvP, this new option will create a whole new level of positioning and feinting using one's pet. If the enemy team is training your pet, you can tell it to run behind a pillar. In PvE, you'll be able to guide your pet out of fire, set it to a more appropriate position or otherwise make it act like a beast that obeys your commands. It's going to be pretty awesome; I'm likely to spend my first few hours learning a bunch of stupid pet tricks.

Right now, the actual icon for the Move To command is missing, but the button still works.

I played around with it on the beta, and it's all pet classes, including Unholy DKs, Warlocks, Hunters, and Frost Mages.

It seems like it can have great potential, and it makes me nostalgic thinking about the old Warcraft games.

Adding 5x aoe I picture in my head the guy grabbing the flag, then a Tasmanian Devil animation around him followed by a big flame. His charred outline then crumbles to the ground, eyes still blinking in amazement and tearing up with awe.

Oh, what about the elemental Shaman's new toy, Earthquake? Just imagine 4x or 5x earthquakes in a circle around a flag lol

Don't forget that Blizzard is totally Fing over hunters for PVP unless something changes. Aimed shot costs 60% of the focus etc. It is basically a screw you to hit and run. There is a new aspect that regens focus. If you need that then why they heck did they remove mana if they are using the same mechanic but called something different? Rogues don't have something that restores energy.

Personally I think this is somewhat of a good thing for pvp because hunters will now take some skill to play and not just have everything be ranged instant. Stuff like aimed shot used to take time to cast. It should be unaimed shot or something now.

Hunters have always taken more skill in pvp. All the 's' key hunters I see in WG and BGs make me cringe.

"s" key, whatcha mean Carbs?

Personally I absolutely LOVE multiboxing hunters. When it comes to battlegrounds, I have found that there is no more powerful team than multiboxing hunters when you are talking about sheer killing, especially moving the line forward in Alterac Valley. Hunters are extremely mobile, can send in mass pets into sticky situations, and can upload immense ranged DPS like non other.

I suppose we might need to be re-looking at all of the Cata classes, maybe a new mix will come up that will be the new star of multiboxing?

I think he means the hunters that constantly hold the 's' key (i.e. move backwards) while fighting. Takes rather little skill to keep the target at a safe distance if you are constantly just moving backwards.

Yea I never did get why they were moving to focus in the first place? Will it regen just like it does for Rogues, the same speed and such?

Seems like a HUGE nerf to me.

They claim for PVE purposes only that long fights warranted change to viper even with wisdom and mana regen.

Steady shot will regen focus and stings should slowly. So for PVE you should be fine, however for PVP stop and go and shoot on the run it sounds like a horrible nerf. I have 2 hunters, but they deserve a nerf. Not a huge one, but comparatively speaking they are far more powerful than their other ranged counterparts with the exception of priest which is now without a doubt the most powerful class.

Nothing yet is final and I am sure they will tone back some of the ccosts because multi shot being 65% is just totally rediculous and so is aimed shot being 60.
