Default Multiboxing + SWTOR: Current status?

Hey all,

Does anybody know, and can cite, if multiboxing will be allowed in SWTOR? If so, has anybody noticed any specific concerns or anything yet (such as no /follow)?

If the game developers allow multiboxing in SWTOR then Pwnboxer more than likely will have a big update to extend more support for it

Seems like it's all speculation at this point. According to one poll I saw on the forums it was pretty much an even 50/50 split for/against multiboxing. We shall see if it is allowed.

Well over on DB.com a member there who is playing beta just got an email today stating that multiboxing in SWTOR will be allowed but the team. A not offer support for third party software used to multibox. I assume that the no botting policy will also apply but that wasnt in the email but I'm sure it's a given.

Well that sounds a lot like the wow standpoint.. like most of swtor xD
Anyway, its SO comparable to WoW, that i highly doubt it will miss anything we need.
havent looked into it, but it does have focus, and i assume follow.

However, it will not have addons on launch.

Greetings Themopolis,

I am Protocol Droid J6-R2 and I have received your query regarding Multiboxing.

Please note that Star Wars: The Old Republic have no issues with the use of Multiboxing but please also be aware that we cannot offer any support should problems arise while using 3rd party software.

Sincerely,

Protocol Droid J6-R2

The attitude i feel in that post seems by not going Into detail, they distance themselves from favouritism, name-and-shame and potential malitious stuff. It also lets them decide whats botting on a case by case situation without creating any loopholes.

Tl;dr same as wow xD dame info on conditional targeting (@focus, @party2 etc in wow) follow mode and maybe interact with Target would pretty much stap this up.

Oi, bad news, did some digging and found this topic:
STAR WARS: The Old Republic - Mouse-Over Macros
It seems correct, cant find any proof otherwise and this keeps repeating itself..

So, im no expert, but without macros, Mbing will be harder right? :P

That's fine. Don't know what they mean by mouse-over macros, but people will want to get to know their rotation first most likely before tinkering with macros. In any event if there will be no macros in the game then I doubt multiboxing will become popular in SWTOR. But I suspect if they want the game to be a similar feel to wow for people, it will be patched in the game at a later date.

In wow, a mouse over macro is something where the target of whatever spell you have put in the macro goes to whoever your mouse is currently hovering on top of.

So you wouldn't be able to make a macro:
/castsequence [target=mouseover] reset=target Curse of Agony, Corruption, Immolate, Drain Life, Drain Life, Drain Life

Or:
/cast [@mouseover] Lifebloom

Targeting a unit with the mouse, is pretty much impossible to outlaw in a game if you can even use the mouse in the game.
If you can select with the mouse and just click the macro you've made... which reads:

/castsequence reset=target Curse of Agony, Corruption, Immolate, Drain Life, Drain Life, Drain Life

Or:
/cast Lifebloom

Or perhaps
/castsequence [@focustarget] Whatever, Whatever, Whatever...

You're not using mouse over macros, but you are efficiently boxing without issues.

It is official, multiboxing is allowed in Star Wars the Old Republic. As noted from a tester that received an email response and posted this on another message board:
