Multiboxing FFXI ... anyone have ideas ?

Hello everyone,


As you can believe by the title , I am not a WoW player. Sadly for me FFXI is not as much popular than the fore mentionned and bear my english as i am actually french.

It currently make about 2 1/2 years i play FFXI with 2 account on a single PC. During all that time i've been playing with alt+tab shorcut and find it really annoying. Sometimes I press it to quickly making the PC ignore my switch and the most annoying .. it make me less good than 2 person playing 1 account each.

I keep trying to find a way to have 2 active windows ... or at least something that would let me use my shortcuts on the 2 windows at the same time. I haven't found anywhere on the net talking about such and every place i looked say its impossible to have 2 active window (which i can understand to a certain point)

Would you have any idea of program that could help me do such ? ... would you think the one for WoW would work onto that game ? .. Please help me in my seek for my saint-graal.

Few hours later.... I have downloaded & payed for the program pwnboxer just to see if the "broadcast keys" worked , i made pwnboxer open 2 notepad.exe (funny?) to see if i was able to write numbers on boths at the same time. Which i wasnt able to do. If you have any idea... i'm trying to see on the game itself .. but i think it won't work .

Finally managed to make it work , thanks to the email from Pwnboxer.com
sadly it doesnt Fully broadcast all key..

my games macros are CTRL+(0.9) and ALT+(0.9)
but the broadcast doesnt make CTRL or ALT be broadcasted ...
anyone have idea about that issue ? .. please !?

Consolidate to 10 macro's for your alts and only use 0-9 for controling the slaves and have the main ctrl and alt keys...

also look into the f keys and numpad...

Probably that would work nicely for WoW .

but on FFXI the macro are exclusively CTRL+ (0,9) and ALT+ (0,9)
pressing "1" make you say it in the chat box and is not considered a macro
as well as the numpad is used to control the character movement (foward,backward,left,right and auto-run)

so i really need to make ALT & CTRL key broadcasted

Hey I think I remember answering your email to the Pwnboxer address

For those keys to be broadcasted, make sure they are in the Pwnboxer broadcast list. Its real easy, just click on key broadcasting, go to the first tabbed selection, make it say "Broadcast all these keys" and in the list on the right, scroll down, check for your key. If it isn't there, simply select the bottom option and add those keys. Make sure to save your PB config when you are done!

Open Pwnboxer and click "Configure Keys". Scroll all the way down and click <Add new key>. Then add the keys you want: Ctrl+1, Ctrl+2 ... Ctrl+0 and Alt+1, Alt+2 ... Alt+0

yea, i looked the list of keys beeing broadcasted
and they are all in the list
but its weird when im inside the game.
i press CTRL+1 in game1
and in game2 it's only making it press "1"

same with the rest
only broadcasting numbers but not the "CTRL" or ALT" key

Hey Arach, can you link some screenshots of your config so I can double check some things. I'm on my phone now so this would be really easy to look at (vs loading your PB config).

It would be hard for me as i am on dial-up internet ... (YIKES!)
I know ... but it's the only internet reaching me (or satellite but too costy and unplayable)

I'll try tho .. what Screeny you want exactly ? the list of key been broadcasted ?
