Default The Multiboxers interface

Hey guys,

I'm working on a bit of a little personal project... To make the best Multiboxer interface I can. I'm trying to list out some requirements for what multiboxers need from their interface, as it can be a bit demanding.

These are the requirements I've got so far:

- To be able to see the group/team health easily
- Subtle warnings if group members are low hp
- Low memory usage (as you have to run it multiple times)
- Reasonable space for spells/abilities
- Recount (we all know we want to see our dmg :P)
- possibly hide-able frames (such as recount when you don't need to see it)
- and obviously the interface needs to look sexy

When I'm done, I'll compile it and post it up on www.wowinterface.com and let you guys know.

I'm hoping to make something that everyone can easily use with low system impact.

Any feedback and suggestions would be great!

Also... If you have any other interface pictures for reference, post them here so I can get some ideas to go from.

Jamba, it is a boxing compilation.

One of (I use choice "C", but A & B certainly work):
a) Healbot;
b) Vuhdo;
c) Grid + GridCustomLayouts + Clique

For the Repeater Region healing.

Hey Ualaa, I use combinations of those as well, C is also my preference... What I'm hoping to do, is have party frames organised by name, then overwrite that with your team's names somehow, so that you can use that instead of grid...

Not sure how i'm going to do it, but I have something like that in mind.

Also, i'm going to be using Ouf frames to do this (lowest cpu usage frames), I have a bit of an understanding of LUA, but i'm by no means a pro... If anyone knows how to program in LUA, some tips would go a long way.

Ok so...

After working for hours on this interface (literally I've been going for about 6 hours) I decided that the whole "low footprint" thing wasn't going to be do-able with my LUA knowledge... So i've done this one... the addons folder is about 15mb... so it's not exactly what you'd call low usage!

I figure, if you want low usage... go for TukUI lol.

This is what I've come up with, it is a bit different, but I feel like things are well positioned. If anyone wants to try it out, let me know and I'll upload the compilation.

Solo Out of Combat:

Solo in Combat:

and finally, in my 3 team multiboxing group:

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Chat does need to be on the left IMO.

Also, lets see screenshots in party as well as BG, to judge things.

I'm excited to see this Snowy!

Ok well... moving the chat over to the right was a bit of a bold move, even for me.

So these are the changes I'm looking at making tonight:
- Fixing the issue where target's name is cut off
- Moving Chat back over to the right
- Putting Recount/Omen in place of the Chat frame on the right
- Work on the Raid frames (Forgot about these until Tim said Battle Ground :P)
- Also now that I think about it, I might need names on the group/raid frames.... Multiboxers won't be able to tell their toons apart!

I might try replacing the group/raid with Grid if Pitbull doesn't work the way I need it to.

The only thing I like about Grid over Pitbull... and the ONLY reason I'd use it over Pitbull is because you can add a custom layout which allows you to keep your multiboxing toons together and in the same place, rather than spread out all over the Raid/Group... If I can figure out a way to do this with Pitbull, I will definately go with that that over Grid.

I like both Grid and a Unit Frame addon (was using Shadowed).

Basically set Clique to only interpret clicks over the Grid.
And then can use the target window, or party window, to right click and initiate trades or target someone.
That's a small preference on my part; a minimalist UI would want one or the other, most likely.

What resolution are you playing at?

I'm playing at 1920x1080, but I'm going to look at testing this interface with a few different resolutions. What would you guys recommend it be set up for?

I've never actually seen a way to do that with Clique... didn't know you could set it up only for clicks on Grid.

Also, I've noticed you have a few posts around about setting up GridCustomLayouts... the info you put into those posts often looks quite the same. Do you know how to do other setups in Grid or have you found that information somewhere? If you know how to setup GridCustomLayouts a bit more, then I might get some assistance off you if possible... I might try and setup the party/raid with JUST Grid and get rid of Pitbull frames.

Also, not sure if you'd know (or anyone else) but can you have different layouts for group and raid/bg/etc?

I know that you can select different "layouts"... but can you make the frames all look different between these? for example, in a group, have 5 frames in 5 big squares (50x50 size)... but in a raid, have 40 smaller bars (10x50 size)

Do you know if that's possible?

Ok, so I've had a look around and discovered my interface usage isn't really that high... I'm going have the usage down to around 5-6mb... Most interfaces I can find are anywhere between 30mb and 100mb.... I thought 8mb was bad lol!

Turns out the only interfaces under that are ones like TukUI, which BARELY uses less than 1mb. So in the scheme of things, I'm doing pretty well.

Should have it up for use tonight or tomorrow. Will let you guys know when it's ready to use.
