| Definitely play whatever you find to be the most fun. When you're starting, do RAF... and level a bunch of options. Because you might absolutely love Boomkin Druids, but only enjoy the caster spec and not being either a healer or a melee. And then Blizzard does two expansions in a row, where the Eclipse mechanic sucks and where Boomkins don't have enough burst to do much in PvP. So you decide to mess around with Warlocks, Shaman, Priests or Mages for that expansion... because it is casters you want to play, and your favorite doesn't work that well. Or maybe you can make them work well enough to still be fun.

| Found this on the other site. Warlock 3-Step mapped key/macro. Basically 3 macros, which you spam in sequence. You can put all three, on "1", on action bars 1, 2 and 3. And use /changeactionbar 1, /changeactionbar 2, and /changeactionbar 3... to auto advance to the next macro, while spamming the same key. If your software supports steps (such as IS Boxer), which are different outputs on subsequent presses of the same key... they just put each on whatever keybind out want, pick your "spam" key and set each of the outputs to the correct keybind. 1 /castsequence Unstable Affliction, Bane of Agony, Corruption, Curse of Elements(on toon1) Curse of Weakness(toon 2) Curse of Tongues(toon 3), Curse of Exaustion (toon 4) /cast Shadowbolt 2 /castsequence reset=10 Haunt, Drain Life, Drain Life /cast ShadowBolt 3 /cast Shadowflame /cast Shadowbolt

| Thanks Ualaa for the info, this does sound exciting what Warlocks will do! Xartin, where do you read about the Warlock tank form? I can't seem to find where the full time tank form is with the demon talents. Also, when you mention Warlocks using IWT, does that mean they will do melee damage in that full time form? I am trying to read more about it but can't seem to locate anything |

| Articles on the demon tank form are still somewhat hard to find but here's one of the best "early" examples I could find from Affinitii from blood legion and some friends running the lvl 90 heroic scarlet monestary with a level 85 warlock tanking everything. Do note this was when warlocks pet summon was still horribly bugged allowing you to summon dozens of pets. of course since soul link splits the damage this was the only reason they could run a lvl 90 heroic at lvl 86 and even come close to surviving. Having one of the worlds best pve healers in your back pocket likely helped aswell ![]() https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UTEsjZXwBxo Tim, the melee damage your asking about with CTM + IWT with warlocks will likely be shadow and flame damage. i'm sure there may be some unarmed damage but as far as i know your main hand weapon is not the primary striking weapon while engaged in demon form melee combat. Since any agressive combat in the tank demon forum currently produces significant threat and you have a taunt aswell your threat is built through use of spellcasting. The demon itself is the vehicle of destruction instead of melee weapons Last edited by xartin; 04-11-2012 at 11:47 AM. |

| Waaait, so a warlock does melee range damage mostly by spells then, as in, things hit him in the fast while he casts spells VS swinging typically melee style? I was wondering if +SP somehow turned into melee damage or something? |

| Sweet Jesus that is a lot of demons he summoned! Feels almost like multiboxing! I think I am going to return to the 5x style and do 5x Warlocks PERHAPS! Or would I want to toss 1x healer in there? |

| i'm envisioning the possibilities and i could really see 4x demo tank warlocks setup with ctm + iwt and either a resto druid or disc/holy priest as the team lead being outright pwnage. Even without a dedicated healer due to the healing capabilities of harvest life the survivability would be outstanding ![]() Your warlocks alone at lvl 90 would likely have a total combined health pool of close to or exceeding 1 million hp with summoned pets. They could all balance incoming damage by having taunts on round robin to balance damage via threat. the three minute "shield wall" would never be on cooldown for any one tank. Mixing pets also offers various different abilities. Each pet with the advanced grimoire at the moment also has a threatening stance to you could essentially have a fulltime healer and eight tanks with a 50/50 shared health pool. Warlocks soulstone also now can resurrect dead party members directly with one spellcast exactly like death knights current use of raise ally vs the old method that required having a soulstone active to qualify for resurrection. Unstoppable much? Last edited by xartin; 04-11-2012 at 03:16 PM. |

| Whoa... The biggest thing IMO for having a healer on a 5x team for PVE was so you could do the occasional ressurect. For example, 5x mages would be great, but running 1x back constantly would suck. So essentially a 5x Warlock team has 5x Rez capability per 30 min (30min cd right?)? So would a healer even be needed? Even with 5x Warlocks and not being able to LFD que, you could always just LFD with 3x at a time and round robin them, and do BGs at the same time. Xartin, if I had 5x Warlocks and I am que'd for a BG, but I run to and enter an instance, does the BG que go away? I forgot... |

| Affliction Warlocks have a lot of self healing capability, between Drain Life being useful and health off of Siphon Life (a percentage of Corruption damage) and from Haunt. Demo Locks with Soul Link will have the largest health pool, and will be able to (both other specs too) self heal via their main cast DD spell. *Edit* Here's the blue post, regarding Locks tanking: Quote:

| Perhaps a little known fact about the MoP beta client. You can login more than once using the same account like WoW3 for example ![]() Now if blizzard fixes the crit error bugs I might be able to test out some MoP multiboxing |
