| Senior Member | Back to the original question about how to stop a macro, from what I can gather through Google searching, if you press another G* macro key while the macro is running, it will cancel the currently running macro. I have not tested this, so I can't confirm it (I play WoW and am avoiding keyboard macros at all costs). Perhaps someone who is playing with these keyboard macros can confirm/deny it. |

thanks ofr the reply, should work great, however i urge people not to use a macro, i thought it would be ok, but after reading the forums here , regarding the guy getting banned in WOW and him wrongly blaming pwnboxer, yes note i said wrongly, it later went on to discuss macro use, and that is when the warden detection came up. so yes, as tim stated one keypress for one action, or expect to get banned. Tims reply is here Just been banned

Well, let's say you have a macro to enter your password. While the macro will be pushing several keys in sequence, one after the other. It is no more of a benefit then a simple key combination for Paste. And really a game is not going to care how you enter the password. They are more concerned with bot-like actions, inside the game. But let's say your macro gets stuck. Knowing how to stop it, is of benefit, even if you would not ever dream of using a timed macro in the game. You could accidently hit the macro key while in game.

Ualaa brings up a good point, something I see on the G11 keyboard I have ALL THE TIME! If you button mash G11/G15 keys, expect the Logitech software to freak out time to time, and overwrite its que to your keyboard in windows. I've done a lot of debugging and found that Logitech can do the following if button mashed. G1 key Keydown F11 Keyup F11 G2 key Keydown Shift keydown 8 keyup Shift Keyup 8 When you press them together, there is a chance of: Keydown F11 Keydown Shift keydown 8 keyup Shift Keyup 8 Notice the keyup for F11 is missing, aka your key is now stuck. It is rare, but if you button mash, it can happen multiple times per 4-5 hour play window. So keep that in mind when using another G key to stop a G key.

Pushing M1, M2 or M3, to change the bank of keys is probably the best way. I don't really have this issue with IS Boxer. If you run the software, while IS is running. And then "end process", you can use the G-keys (or M1, M2, M3, MR) for your mapped keys. You can even use modifiers with them, like: [alt] G1, [shift] G2, [alt, ctrl, nomod:shift] G3.. or whatever. You're not actually making macros as above, just checking which modifiers apply to activate your mapped key.
