| STO was released about two years ago. I got into the beta event but despite being a lifetime trekkie wasn't convinced or didn't really understand the "bridge officer system" It's made a bit of a comeback recently or will because its going free to play in two weeks so i figured i would check it out. picked up the game on the holiday steam sale for cheap. It was totally worth it so far. STO has both ground pve, pvp battle, well developed space combat and space pvp and the game studio is apparently adding directx 11 soon. swtor's space combat was just terrible and STO your not forced to wade through the mission text cinematics every single time. Star Trek Online looks to anniversary updates, free-to-play updates, and beyond Last edited by xartin; 01-03-2012 at 11:48 PM. |

| One other key feature i find i enjoy is that every player gets they're own multiboxing team in STO for ground away missions using customizable npc bridge officers and you don't require multiple game accounts to utilize this since it's included with all ground away missions in solo combat. They're mostly autonomous but still individually controllable via the team member ui, each "bridge officer" offers customizable itemization, trainable with selectable talent sets and will even resurrect each other after they die. I've died first, had my npc team members clean up mobs and res my character afterwards on multiple occasions ![]() Here's an example from the start of one of my away missions http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z3KWJ3K7RwA&t=17m50s Last edited by xartin; 01-04-2012 at 05:37 AM. |
