Just curious, does anybody here play poker?

Playing poker online is sort of like multiboxing, considering people often play 2-10+ games at once. Right?

But really, does anybody here play poker, more specific to brick-n-morter places VS online (I'm not a fan of online poker)? If so, what limits/types do you play, and where?

I've not played online before, but have seen my dad do that fairly often.
Basically buy into a table with so many others and play the equivalent of an elimination tournament with scaling blinds.

When I was a kid, I played a fair bit of draw poker.



The game now seems to be Texas Holdem.
Watching the tournaments isn't bad, but I wouldn't pick those programs myself.

I've played here and there with friends.
I've got a full set of poker chips, which we use in the place of cash.
Usually go with a $20 buy in, which is affordable and not a pain to lose; although... Luke will sometimes buy in six or seven times, while the other players are much closer in play level and end up winning or losing on a single $20.



I picked up the chips initially to test my black jack card counting system at home.
It worked mathematically, based on several hundred billion hands simulated with WinSim21, version 4.0.

In the end, it's in the category of... it works.
But needs enough of a bankroll to account for fluctuation, that if you wanted to play at a decent level... well that's more cash then I want to gamble with.
