| to make sure it is not the router, plug the modem directly to your pc. unless you have one of those router/modem combo. Once you hook the modem directly to your pc, unplug the modem AC power for 30 secs then plug it back in. this will allow the modem to resync with charter and your computer. also if possible, can you list what router and modem you have? just need the name and version of them, this will help us search google and see if that modem/router has any problems and if they have a fix. | No, what I am saying is my parents bought a megabit connection which is 1/8 speed of a megabyte connection. Now I would be fine with this if I knew that they bought the 5 or 10 megabit connection but I don't. So I have to assume they fell for the whole 1,000 kb scam. I am seriously getting a 1018 kilobit connection which is dirt compared to the US average of 10 megabits per second.

| Seriously though, sounds like your cable modem router, your wifi type router, or your ISP have problems. Start by calling your ISP and say you are getting huge packetloss and crappy speeds. |

| except I'm not gonna complain for no reason because my parents won't tell me what package we are getting so I can't tell Charter to do anything about my connection until I have that figured out.
