I'm going to solo race 1 guy from 1 to 85, Pick my class!

Hey all,

Upon the release of Cataclysm, I am going to be racing a single character, a goblin, from level 1 to level 85, as fast as I can. I will be doing this for approx. 12-16 hours a day, every day, until 85, 100% streamed on JTV. I literally will be powering as FAST as I can, following the details of a leveling strategy I built in advance to race things as fast as possible. I will be leveling this on a PVE server so PVP doesn't interrupt me as I will be making a video of the entire process. Then I intend to server transfer it to Blackrock. Also, I expect this race of leveling to take a week or so with 7 days in a row, 12-16hrs a day.

So the question is: Which class should I race to 85?

Note: It has to be able to be a Goblin

My thoughts:

Hunter- Leveling a hunter solo race style would probably be the easiest since the pet is essentially your safety net.

Mage- A mage would let me have a class to power level a new multiboxing team, right?


Question: I can server transfer a newly leveled 85 goblin from a PVE to PVP, right?

Note: After I level this guy, I will of course do a new multiboxing team.

The usual winners, for server first to maximum level are either: BM Hunter or Demo Warlock.

I noticed you have Hunter listed twice... Goblins cannot be Druids or Paladins, but they could go Warrior. And I suppose DK, kind of defeats the purpose.

go a class that can either heal or tank. Shaman or Warrior. Get your instance xp when you need it.

will this include heirlooms?

I would say mage with the portals removed from dal and shat getting from place to place is a lot longer trip. I just lvled a mage to 80 in just under 4 days /played. 1-20 i was frost the pet helps with the 2ed nova. from 20-80 i was arcane u 2 shot every mob with arcane blast and once u get slow and nether vortex talents(at lvl 53) most mobs will never get to u.

Hey Zub,

Actually this will be on a brand new account. I'm ditching all 37 of my current accounts and going with 5 brand spanking new ones. I'll be doing a single 1-85 goblin on a PVE for the purposes of speed leveling and recording a video, then transferring him to Blackrock. Might also do a speed 1-85 alliance as well.

Since the goal is to speed level from 1 to 85 solo style, I'll be doing a crapload of quests while que'd for instances. With Cata and the quests being so close to each other, it should be more XP than instancing.

Questing is indeed faster, however, with the way new 1-60 instances are they are ALL better to do them once when they become yellow in the dungoun finder, because every instance has the quests for it right at the beginning of the instance. So, doing them once for the quests then going back to questing seems ideal to me.

I voted for the hunter since it has the least amount of down time in between ever since the switch to focus

Demo Lock, i really dont see any point in speeding a char to 85 and then never using it, but Lock you could easily use for a team.

Yea I'm leaning towards a hunter.

Could somebody summarize the things that Hunters got changed in 4.0 VS the olden days? I haven't played a hunter since my 4 Hunter 1 Priest multiboxing group.
