| Hi Everyone. First post and first time I've ever considered MB'ing, so please offer any advice. I've already been trawling the forums for some time but have a few questions. How many accounts can I run from a single system? My build is a: Rampage ii Extremem Mobo, SSD 275/275(read/write) i7 OC'd to 3.6Ghz GTX 460 evga (I'm not sure if this is good? I am not a graphics man so just asked someone to pick a card for me when I built my system). I gave my account last year and was thinking about starting again.. but doing 1-80 would be sooo boring, since I've done it several times now, so I thought I would do it 5 times over lots of accounts? What is the opinion - do you guys think it would be fun to level up all of them? Or is it really hard work? I have never MB'xd before. I already gave away two accounts on my battle net account, so I'm going to have to buy 5 more. Whats the most cost efficient way of doing it? Presuming I can have 5 acct's running at the same time? How many monitors would I need also. Thanks. (More questions to follow) |

| Senior Member | I cannot give you specifics to your system but Tim has shown over 30 wows on 1 computer. So its very possible to run many. 2ndly if you plan to return, please do the Refer-A-Friend program. Create an account and then go to the referral section and send out 1 referrel, activate that account and refer.... repeat this process until you get A refers B B refers C C refers D D refers E this is so that your group gets the bonuses. I will state that I play on a so/so laptop and I can just about 5-box. I use 2 monitors. 1 for my main box and the other for the 4. It all depends on what you prefer. Hope this helps a little until Carbs/Tim wake up :P |

| What about groups? I can't decide what kind of way I should do it? Is it easier to boost 4 accounts with an 80? Or just run all 5 accounts up? Secondly, I'm worried about equipment. I think I should have type gear diversity. The second reason for this is that it would be surely quite boring just having 5 shamans right? I was thinking 3DPS 1 Healer and 1 Tank. What is some of the main reasons that I want to look out for when choosing my classes? |

| As I'm sure someone will explain in far greater detail, one of the major considerations for group makeup is how your cooldowns line up. 5 shaman naturally have all their cooldowns line up and the stacking nature of their buffs is the big reason that setup is most common. However, cooldown synchronicity (either it's a word or now © Roshinko) is less of a factor if you're willing to sit down and stud and understand some of the more advanced macro setups, such as click macros. All-in-all, the more time you're willing to spend on the initial setup, the more freedom you'll have with your group makeup and ultimately the more fun you'll have multiboxing.

| How much RAM does your system have? For 5 people, especially in Cataclysm, you will want 6G. For 10, 12G. |

Pally Tank Druid Healer Ele Shaman Mage Lock for the roles? That could rock quite a lot! Definitely keep us informed about your progress. We loves us some screenshots of teams.

Its going to be about 4 weeks though before I start. I need to finish a job I'm working on before I can burn my free time and I don't want to eat into my RAF time, so I'm just researching right now. I also want to get a new monitor which I think is essential.. so I can have an entire monitor for my main and my four slaves on the other one. I have other questions... I figure I will do more characters while I'm in the 3 months for RAF... If I do two rounds.. so that I have leveled up 8 characters. I can then grant 4 new characters right up to level 60? Is that correct? Also, how much gold can you make an hour grinding when multiboxing at 80? Then finally, for professions? What would you recommend for gold making too? | |
