How long have you been playing WoW?

http://As gamers we are constantly searching for that next title that will completely blow us away. This search is never ending and it is inevitable that no one game will satisfy a gamer forever, even with fresh content updates regularly. A lot of us invest years of our lives into games, until one day we just burn out. The perfect example of this is World of Warcraft, having played since Vanilla I have spent a good six years on and off with this one game. In the beginning, it was life changing and every corner I turned there was something new and exciting to explore. I must give credit to WoW as while it wasn't the first MMO I played, it was the first title to change my views about subscription models.

The author has spent 6 years on it. Me, 5 years. What about you guys?

the scariest bit is not so much how long you've been playing it for, but how much you actually have been *in* the game.

Take the /played of all your toons single played and sum it up.
i've spent about 8months of my life in the game. which is way too long. which is why i stopped playing

but i believe some of our friend would like to follow wow no matter how long.

Take the played time of a hard core multiboxer and it probably is > year or more heh.

Imagine what could be accomplished if you took all the /played time of WoW players in the US and put it towards something like... making me money?

started playing when it first came out but quit because i didnt like it but then i got back into it in 2007

I started between 2005 and 2006. So I guess between 5 and 6 years here. I have taken a break for the last 8 months though! Don't know how I have made it this long

I am going to start back up soon and hoping it will be fresh since I haven't done much in Cataclysm.

I played for about 2 years. Total time /played on my main was something like 62 days. Been WoW-free for about 4 years now, only buying a 1 month sub once for development stuff with addons.
