| Going very casually, not racing this time at all. No pressure is quite nice. I've actually spent almost as much time on my three sub-80 teams, as the first of the teams that will level. Chances are, 25-30 of my toons will reach 85th, but no rush. My main team (5x Feral Druids), is a little past 82nd, having done every quest in Hyjal and starting on the Vashj'ir quests. Ferals don't need heals while leveling; Leader of the Pack, healing 4% on criticals has been enough 90% of the time. I've taken out several elites +1/+2 levels above me, especially those where you're supposed to click an item to summon help... don't need the help, and its a good test for the 5CP finisher = 5x Instant-Cast heal, which has been plenty of healing so far. Second team is still undecided; which is the reason I'm leveling two of the three sub-80 teams. Basically leave teams as they are, is choice A. Or mix a bunch of things up. The choices are: - Leave the WotLK PvE team together (Prot Pally, Demo Warlock, 3x Elem. Shaman). - Then trade one Disc (from the 5x Disc) for one Frost DK (from the 5x DK's) and go with 4x Frost + 1x Disc as team #2. - Which then leaves the old PvE team intact, gets me the 4x DK + Healer team, and has a secondary PvE team (4x Disc, 1x DK Blood) ready. Plus an extra mixed team of casters at 80th (Disc, Frost Mage, Boomkin, 2x Elem). Or: - Take the Prot Pally from the PvE team, and put her with the 4x DK's, so Holy Pally + 4x Frost DK's (instead of Disc, with DK's). - The DK who is dropped from the DK team, becomes the tank on the PvE team, possibly take 2 of the 3 shammies out and replace them with Mage & Druid, for a really mixed team. So PvE = one of: ---- Blood DK, Demo Lock, 3x Elem. Shaman. ---- Blood DK, Demo Lock, Arcane Mage, Elem or Resto Shaman, and Boomkin or Resto Druid (both dual-spec, for PvE flexibility). - Then I have 5x Disc Priests as their own team. ---- If the Shammies are left in, the final team is (Disc, Frost, Boom, 2x Elem). ---- Or take 2x Elementals from both teams for 4x Elemental (another PvP team), leaving a few assorted toons... enough for another team of mixed classes. So a few choices in the near future. The status quo teams, gets Disc + 4x Frost as the new horde side PvP team (will faction transfer them, for a PvP team on each faction); and the original and strong PvE team, and several 5x Same Class teams. The mixing it up gets Holy Pally and 4x Frost DK's for the new team, and then a full mixed team for PvE and several teams of 2x A and 3x B, or similar. Plus the 4x Shaman, as another PvP team. Have not touched tradeskills, beyond training up the cap to 525. 800g per stack of herbs and ore, make leveling my 34 alchemists a bit prohibitive at the moment; pretty sure the prices will come down fairly soon. I don't mind if I'm making my steady 5k a day from transmutes beginning in a month; miss out on 10k a day from transmutes, but save 150k on the alchemy leveling process. A worthwhile trade, I would think; will probably work out to about the same, but leaves me with 400k instead of only 250k should I want to buy anything for my assorted toons. The Speculation is going so-so, in week 1. Alliance side, there are so many auctions for Copper/Tin, Peacebloom/Silverleaf, Linen/Wool, if I decide to match prices I'll only be selling for 3g/stack when I paid 1g/stack. In previous expansions, these have gone up to 50-100g/stack. *Edit* On Day 4, of Week 1... have sold a bunch of the initial batch of items, up to +2500g with more then 3/4's of the items unsold. Horde side, the mats are selling at 25g/stack but I've only got 3 bank tabs filled instead of 21 bank tabs. So, a good profit but a smaller profit. Going to stick with my Week 1 prices as is. If the price per stack comes up, can make something. If the mats become worthless, well its only 300 stacks... 50 stacks of each type (300g investment). Have my Week 2 through Week 8, auction mules set to go. Last edited by Ualaa; 12-10-2010 at 10:49 PM. |

| It's been fun, I have not bothered with multiboxing as of yet. I have three characters (rogue, shaman, hunter) that I really like to solo with, and am leveling them. The rogue and shaman are 85, the hunter is 83 and I've slacked off with her. I've been re-shuffling some of my professions in order to make sure that I have an easy path to them all (my original mixed team had most of my crafting professions, but I don't know if I'll level them anytime soon). I'm getting close on professions, but still have some work to do. Gathering professions are covered on several toons. Blacksmithing, engineering, enchanting, alchemy, inscription and jewelcrafting are pretty well set. Two characters are leveling cooking and fishing via the dailies. I still need to level up a tailor (165/225 atm) and a leatherworker (30/75 atm). that won't take long, it only took a day or two to get my alchemist to 506. Once I have both tailoring and LW to 425 on those characters, I'll take the 1x shaman and 4x hunter team for a spin. Actually I still need to finish leveling one hunter from 78.75 to 80, but that won't take long at all. My guild is me and about five or six friends. About four of us are active. The guild is level 3 and progress has slowed with two others hitting 85 and Blizzard's nerf to guild exp (not a complaint, it really was too fast before). When I start boxing the teams that will take care of itself. I still have a level 32 team (1 shaman/4 warlock) and a level 60/61 team (1 priest/4 mages) to level at some point. So I am sure that guild leveling will be fine, and once we get level 5 the gold starts to roll in as well. To be honest, the gold is already rolling in. Rushing a character from 80 to 85 via quests nets you somewhere between 4,000 and 6,000 gold. It's crazy. My rogue started Cata with 3,100 gold, and hit 85 with just almost 7,100 gold. And she spent around 2,000 during that time and didn't sell any BOE items (sent them to the guild bank for DE). And she only completed about 10% of the quests in Twilight Highlands, so she's got a lot more to make. My shaman won't make quite as much directly (he will DE all quest rewards) but he might make even more as he sells off enchants. And my alchemist made around 300 gold yesterday selling off the stuff she made while leveling. Gold won't be an issue in this expac for me. With ~26 characters to level and at least 4,000 gold from each one by 85, heh. It's kind of a joke now. |

| First 85 was my Hunter. BTW, changed from Dranei to Worgen. I just had to! Anyways using him to farm leather, and making roughly 4000g/hr using Potion of Treasure Finding (adds on about 750g total minus 200g costs, so extra 550g). The rest are from coins, greens, vendor trash, volatiles, and of course leather. Hit 85 on my priest about a week ago on a speed run. Didn't do as well as I thought. Only had about 3/4 a level as rested. Took about 20 hours. 80-81 about 2 hours. The grind from 82 to 83 was definately the longest at 7 hours. 83-84 about 5.5 hours. 84-85 about 5.5 hours. Using her for PVP healer. I have an 82 Paly and 81 Rogue thats on hold right now. Basically just farming leather one or two hours a day. I'll start leveling my other toons as soon as their respective guilds hit rank 6. The paly will probably be next to be speed ran. He's already 82 and will be a full 2 levels rested by this weekend, and his guild should be at rank 6 adding on an extra 10% xp. I'll be using him to power level a 64 mage to 80+. The paly should be able to run through the dungeons easily, but will the xp be worth it? Does anyone know? I won't be multiboxing much this xpac. Doing things solo is fun for now. When things die down and I need more of a challenge then comes the multibox. |

| Senior Member | My Post Cataclysm Activities: Severlywarpd - Death Knight - 85 (Leatherworking 512 /Blacksmithing 505) Gnarglesby - Hunter - 82 (Mining 525 /Skinning 525) =========== After many days of Blackrock Lockouts, I took the free transfer for all my characters to Dreadmaul - US - PVP - Oceanic =========== Started a 4 Box team which is currently at 23 Sevtank - Protection Paladin Sevboomkin - Balance Druid (will dual spec to Restoration) Sevshadow - Discipline Priest (will dual spec to Shadow) Sevhealer - Restoration Shaman (will dual spec to Elemental) Fun team imho - Prot Paladin with Thorns - Earthshield - PW: Shield on makes life easy, plus having Word of Glory makes needing heals laughable thus far. Random Dungeoning is a lot of fun, I haven't had a complainer or deserter yet, so I must be doing something right. For the moment the plan is to do every single dungeon available via the finder so that I can continue to hit those guild achievements for having at least 4 guildies in a party. I know I haven't gotten nearly as much as I wanted to get done thus far in Cataclysm; I just haven't had any free time to play as I've been buried under endless work. With the holiday upon us, family plans will overtake work plans and I anticipate at this point that I won't really get to WoW until after the new year. Feels dumb wasting $75/month to not play. |
