| While Tim certainly has some nice toys... All hail the brown sata claus and they're fleet of matching aluminum vans. Sadly Fedex attempted to ship the danger den watercooling parts order to Cameroon, South Africa so the water cooling part of the build is definitely being delayed... How this could be mistaken for Canada i'll certainly be curious about for a long time Danger Den has offered to refund my shipping as a result of the shipping mistake..! wow thanks a lot ![]() Hopefully i'll have the rest of the parts by the end of the week. Big thanks to CustomZ02 for the specs for the watercooling parts for building this and Tim for info's on his motherboard I'm considering possibly doing a dual loop on this but i'm a bit new to watercooling. Yeah baby the 3ghz Q9650 just wasn't enough horsepower ![]() Case is a Corsair 800D. cant say i was too enthusiastic about the look of the case but lord is it huge and after getting a look at one i'm certain the reputation is well deserved. ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by xartin; 08-09-2010 at 04:18 PM. |

| Don't forget to tell us how much heat your new reactor produces. But in all serious, I'd like to know how you handle the heat. I'm doing something creative and highly "red neck" at the moment until I get extra power to move to water cooling w/heat ducting. |

| Senior Member | You say red neck, and I think of a window unit air conditioner with some corrugated pcv piping, some pvc sheeting and a copius amount of ducttape to affix the vent made from pcv from the ac unit out into the side of your case...but thats just me.

| I'm just using nvidia system tools for the dual 480's to manage the fan speeds and it's working well so far. peak temps around 85 degrees celcius with 1x wow on ultra still gets a respectable ~60fps in wintergrasp mining/herbing. I have the start of a watercooling kit from danger den that's been enjoying a week and a half vacation at the fedex depot in Paris, France due to the shipping waybill being mis-labelled ![]() The real test gpu performance is test ultimately is this.. Not bad for 2048x1152 ![]() Did this test just after i got the system booted, base drivers installed and SLI enabled. Let me assure anyone considering not spending the money to build your dream computer... i've never owned an SLI gaming rig the sight of the graphics from this monster brought a conflicted mix of an evil grin to my face and a tear of joy ![]() ![]() Last edited by xartin; 08-13-2010 at 08:39 AM. |
