I for one would glady give up a talent point so I could have a pink propeller hat on top my guys with a gigantic spiny thingy.

i am glad they are reworking the talent trees. some of them need a lot of work, like shadow priests. you basically are gimped and slow lvling until you get mind flay, at least that is how I see it. I hate leveling a priest, even if I am boxing 4-5 of them. most of their "good" abilities are too far down the tree and its painful getting the priest those talents.

but all in all, if they are doing this for pvp balance issue, then that is very stupid. there will always be an imbalance between classes when pvp is involved. mostly because some classes fair better when fighting certain classes. But I do not expect the QQ on the wow forums or any wow forum to go away when cata is released

You can kind of balance pvp, at least in one aspect of play, be it 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, 5v5 etc, or for mass pvp. The balance will never be exact, but it might be relatively close in the aspect of choice. Naturally that means it will be more skewed in the favor of some, as you look at other aspects of play. As boxers, we exasperate the situation... 5x of a class instead of 1x.

Or you can balance for PvE, be it solo ability, parties in dungeons, 10 man encounters or 25 man encounters. But the balance again will be as close to possible in one aspect and less so in the others.

Trying to balance 5v5 arena, mass pvp, 5-man instances, 10-man raids and 25-man raids, is pretty much impossible. They do a fairly reasonable job, all things considered.
