| Senior Member | So I've moved onto 1xPally (tank) and 2xMage (dps). My wife is playing shammy heals which she's leveling with me, we're all RaF linked like such: Pally acct > 1 Mage Shammy Acct > 1 Mage So we're powering through the levels. We're currently just doing instances back-to-back. Last night got from 1-29 pretty quickly. My issue is gear for the mages. I'm constantly having to keep buying updated gear on the AH, because I'm only able to do an instance once (maybe twice) before I outlevel it. Granted the mages are still kicking arse with the very limited gear they have (from drops/instance quests) It just seems to be getting outdated too fast! My pally isn't an issue, I have heirlooms on him and the rest of the gear is easy to keep up as he's the only plate/mail in the group. Last night we queued for a few random instances, got into a group with this heirloomed rogue with mostly blues. My mages kept up in damage!

| I think for a multiboxing team, the most important guy to gear is probably the tank. Everything else becomes secondary. A good tank is going to make easy super, super easy, as well as no aggro issues. In fact, I would even recommend the tank to be a couple levels above the rest of your team, it'll make things that much easier. If you're doing heroics @ 85, you might even want to play the tank for a day or 2 to get him geared more than the rest of your team to start. That or splurge the AH on him. |

| Until level 60, gear doesnt really matter much, ull be able to practicly solo the dungeons if u got someone healing you. After 60 ur raf drops, so youll have more then enough time to gear the mages then. Id just keep buying some cheap tailoring gear till 50ish, its the best option |

| The quest gear from Hellfire and Zangarmarsh, will completely replace the best of the best, level 60 gear. Similarly, questing gear in the early Wrath zones will equal Tier 5 (SSC/TK) raiding gear, which your team won't have if you're doing instances/questing/pvp/heirlooms to level. The Cataclysm quest gear, is similar to the Burning Crusade gear, in that everything is very quickly replaced, no matter what your gear was like in the previous expansion. I would be tempted to buy gear on the AH, for either of two things... but personally not for anything else: a) starter pvp set, for a team that will do the honor grind; or b) gearing a maximum level tank and/or healer, to make starting heroics a lot less painful. |
