It's definitely an XML file. I also doublechecked the path for FME by simply pasting the path in the file in my windows explorer window; it took me to the program folder. Either way, when saved with ANSI encoding it seemed to start the program, it just couldn't identify it as a profile file, or something (see screenshot).

hmm... Do you have Teamviewer Nimic? I feel like this is a quick fix. I've already helped someone else over teamviewer with their issue

Right, I think I fixed it. It occured to me that I hadn't resaved the xml file in Unicode as well.

My problems (>.<) are now the aforementioned sound issue, and the fact that it only gave me 8-12 in frame rate. I am still slightly confused about the Cap program. When I open it now, there are four "postings", one of which is active (two just were, but then I exited a stream, so presumably that was one of them). Three are labeled "in plugin-container.exe process", while one (the active one) is labeled in FlashMediaEncoder.exe process".

I will try to add the quad core thing that is specified in the post, and make sure the active one has 30 fps set. That leaves the sound issue, if I get this fixed.

Like I said, if you can't find the stereo mix, I'll give you a nice, quick roughly $10 solution that will get audio to the stream and to any output device on your end

I have Stereo Mix now, I just had to enable it (Windows 7, go figure). But it still won't give me any reaction in the FME preview). So I'm hesitant to spend money on something that should work already. I'll have to check it out a bit more..

In other news, I added the quad core thing, and upped the frame rate to 30 in the Cap program, but it still only gives me ~10 average according to the cmd window that runs during, making it fairly choppy (judging by the movement of the mouse, anyway).

Did you update the xml with the stereo mix audio selection?

yeah, it now says:

Code:
        <device>Stereo Mix (Realtek High Defini</device>
I don't think that can be the problem, since it doesn't register any sound in the preview bar of FME.

I think I've bitten over more than I can chew, so to speak. Even if I can get the sound working, and right now I have no idea how I'm going to do that, I still only get like 12 frame rate, even when lowering the data rate significantly (though the quality doesn't seem that much lower..).

My streaming venture lasted almost a day, new record!

I read the tutorial and tried to fix it myself, but I just get my desktop background + icons whenever I try to stream, even if I put a minimized program over it. The VHSCD region says its "Child of Program Manager Window", is that the right option or do I have to drag it over the game, because when I did that, it gave me the black screen.

Be sure you aren't playing your games in fullscreen. Use windowed or fullscreen windowed.

Also, did you drag the purple bounding box in the VHScrCap config to capture your entire desktop? I've never heard of it just capturing your desktop with a game over it.

Perhaps you could post a picture or link to an archive of your stream with this happening? Would help me out a lot
