| I shall indeed, once I figure out how to get my page all set up. One last question: How do I scale down the picture I'm streaming? My laptop runs at 1980x1080, and the resulting stream is essentially unwatchable as it is too choppy. Can I scale it down to a more manageable 1024x768 or some other comparable ratio? Or, am I better off lowering the <datarate> (which is currently 1000) to something like 800? Thanks. |

| Super Moderator | Run a speedtest at Speedtest.net - The Global Broadband Speed Test and report back with your upload speed. Your internet might be the culprit

| 4 megabits/sec upload speed |

| Super Moderator | Hmm, that might be your issue. Try lowering your bitrate a bit and see if the choppiness goes away.

| Nghtmr is pretty spot on, and due to spiking in lag, spiking in stream bitrates, and ISP throttles, I usually recommend streams have a bitrate of 60% of your average upload speed. |

| 60% of 4 mbps would be 2.4 mbps. If I'm at 1000 kbps (or effectively 1 mbps) then I should be well in the "safe zone." I'm not sure what this means, other than I feel cheated out of my upload bandwidth. I feel I should point out that when I first embarked on this convoluted journey, I tested my upload speed and got only about 3 mbps upload. I'll try it tonight with a lower datarate, and see if that helps at all. One thing I haven't mentioned is that I have the Intel i7 processor. At the end of the OP there's a section that addresses this, in the .bat file. I can't get Code: CD "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Flash Media Encoder 2.5" start /affinity 80 /high FMEcmd.exe /p c:\fme\console.xml |

| Yea your isp might be throttling you. If you do 1000kbps and your stream window shows 0.00 then you are good, but if the buffer is over 0.00 then your network upload speed is getting lagged. |

| Is there any way to work around this? Or do I just drop my datarate and hope that that solves the issue? |

BTW, does your ISP provider start with Com and end with cast?

| Hi. I followed the guide exactly as it was posted and I can stream, however, the intensity of the cpu drainage makes playing any games while streaming impossible. I'm running on an AMD phenom II X4 965 quad core processor. Usually the FMEcmd service takes up about 75-90% of my total cpu. Anyone have any thoughts of why it is draining so much? Thanks |
