Default Re: Exact way to stream with FME to JTV - READ HERE

I started to set up my stream yesterday with the same kind of settings, but I downloaded FME 3.0 so I might try 2.5 tonight to see if I see a difference.
I have roughly 1mbps upload so it's not really great. I broadcast at a 800bitrate with a 800*500 resolution (my native window is 1680*1050 so I kept the 16:10 ratio). The quality isn't great imo.

High speed internet is relatively cheap these days.
I'm not saying go and upgrade your internet specifically for streaming... just that it is quite affordable to upgrade if you'll get enough use out of it for streaming and downloads.

I know Internet, and everything else, costs quite a bit more in Canada than it does in the States.
Basic internet is about $20/mo, and gets you browsing and little else.
For $30 (29.whatever)/mo, you have "high speed", which is 5Mb/sec down and very little up (1Mb/sec approx).
For $40/mo, you get get "Extreme", which is 15/Mb/sec down and very little up (2Mb/sec).

With the fairly recent upgrades to the wiring systems...
There is now "Broadband 50", "Broadband 100", and "Broadband 200" (and 50+, 100+, 200+, which is the same speed but unlimited bandwidth for 10-20 extra per month)
I went with "50", which is $50/mo and gets me 50Mb/sec (down) and 5Mb/sec (up)... which is about the minimum for a decent quality stream.
The gains aren't just in the ability to stream; I can download an episode of a TV show in a few minutes or a blue-ray quality movie in ten to fifteen minutes.
This is only about $20/mo (in Canada, where its more expensive than the States), over basic Cable/DSL internet.

I'm tempted (and likely will go with) faster Internet again once my "trial" or "discount" period ends, and I actually start to pay the full price (currently, my Broadband 50 is cheaper than my (40) Extreme was).
Broadband 100, is twice what I have for around $80/mo, which is within my budget.

Hey all.

I've tried to search for answers, but it's only making my head hurt, so I finally decided I should ask for help at the source. I'm having trouble with framerate.

Code:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-16"?>

My specs:

I should have no problems streaming, right? Then why is it so-so most of the time?

The link for the Justin.tv code is invalid, re-directs you to some dyno software which tells me my trial has expired even though I never used it before..

Even though how much I lower my datarate, my Server buffer can each as high as 200sec. Any ideas what it might be? 1mbit upload btw, but as I said. Doesn't matter how much I lower the datarate to, it still becomes laggy after a few minutes of streaming. Also streaming at 25 frame rate. Thanks in advance!

I'm unable to upload an image of my cmd window. Though, my framerate drops constantly on the Video line. Of 30 seconds of streaming I've dropped 600 frames. I've got a top-notch computer, so I believe anyways but there might be something wrong with the computer. I'm not particularily interested in computers myself so I've got no idea what might be the reason to my framerates dropping at this speed.

I also got this message at the top of my "cmd stream":

Error: Problem writing log file : Could not create log file. Please check that the path is valid and path specified has write permissions.
Not sure if this is anything relevant, as the stream is working (with laggs ofc).

Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated. Cheers

The pink background is actually right in VHScrCap. There is a spot where you set the color of the background. Pink is default for some reason, just set it to black

I have a problem, it seems to be with jtv only. I did everything in the post, i get a stream to my channel however after about 10 sec my server buffer goes from 0.00 to 10.00+! i have 5mb/s up. Also im dropping alof of frames, this causes my videos to be very choppy and unwatchable. Even if i put my bitrate to 100 it still does the same. I have a powerful pc so i know that its not the problem. I dont understand why its happening, i did a stream on livestream and it worked perfect (example video alanwakeon WolfsFang - live streaming video powered by Livestream)

Now here is the video on justin.tv, im using xsplit but i still get the choppy video with this method. (skip to the middle Vindictus (East) - Alan Wake)

Note where it says current video bit rate of 1179 it drops down to 0 often.

Here is the code im using.
Code:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-16"?>
