Nothing that wasn't running last time. Got a newly formatted computer so there are no useless background programs going on.

Just weird that as soon as I did 1 good broadcast the fps in the batch file is reduced by 10-25 it didn't matter when I set it to 60 fps just now, it still just starts up with around 10-11 now....

weirdly enough, changing the bitrate from 2500 down to 2000 fixed it for me, just in case somebody else has problems like this.

Although I should handle 2500 bitrate with my 50/50 fiber connection =/

I finally have my stream running great. I was wondering now if I could have mine give viewers the option to resize it down to say 720p or 480i style viewing? Could I just add something to my .xml file that allows it? If so could someone provide a sample of the .xml section that I would have to add?

Thanks

I'd imagine tweaking the datarate value in your XML should do the trick. Lower = worse quality, higher = better

Hello everyone, i was finally able to get my stream working (after many many hours of screwing around with it and having to crop things). I have a question

1.When i stream at 1680 x 1050 (max resolution my monitor allows) my fps is at about 11. i am using FME and have it set to 30, and i put VH screen capture to 30 as well. and when i start streaming wow the quality is great but choppy. I put the bitrate to 800 (my upload is 3.59 Mbps). Is there anyway i can have a steady FPS while streaming while playing WOW?

I dropped the resolution to 1280 x 800, still streaming at 800, and before opening wow my FPS is about 25. when i open wow and run around it drops to about 11 even though my ingame fps is 60. Please any help would be greatly appreciated.

Here is a link to my stream Dikfury's House of Love on Justin.tv, so you can see what i have been doign just click on past cast and you can see how i kept messing around with it and cant get it right.

*****EDIT*****: I have gotten it to work. My issue was a couple errors in the XML and then the main one was that my .bat was encoded as Unicode and not ANSI. After resaving the file as ANSI and fixing my XML, I have successfully begun streaming. THANK YOU FOR THE GUIDE! Haha I'm so damn happy it works. The frustration was intense.

****EDIT#2*****: A question about what bitrate I should be using. I have a native desktop resolution of 1920x1080p, and I just tested my upload at 760kbps. What is the suggested bitrate I should be using, and framerate for a steady stream? It seems fine and is very steady until I get ingame, where I start to experience ingame delay and my stream is noticeably skipping. Is my internet simply too slow for this resolution? And if so, what can I do? I tried to set it to 720 and streamed, and got wayyy less delay and stream lag, but then the entire screen wasn't being recorded, so thats kinda worthless. Do I have to set my native desktop resolution to the resolution I wish to stream at?

It totally depends on your PC specs and internet speed.

760kbps = 76kB/s = ~0.7mbit. So if you have 1mbit upload, I'd keep it down at around 500kbps (50%), to not get any ingame latency etc.
And for the framerate; anything above 30 is the goal most peoples try achieve, but it's kind of hard sometimes.

tl;dr
Framerate = PC specs.
Lag = internet speed.

Try upgrade your net and/or pc.

Post your XML file, but be sure to edit out your stream id. Do a speedtest and post your upload speed as well.

Hi there- tried browsing through a few pages of the thread without much luck regarding my problem.

My stream runs fine as far as start up and no crashes, however the stream doesn't show my full desktop (or whatever I'm running). It leaves off some of the bottom/right of the screen.

My XML is as follows

Quote:

My monitor is an odd aspect at 8:5 with the size being 1440x900.
My VHScrCap screen selection portion when I go into config and create new was done correctly as well. Only the 3 boxes checked with 30 frame rate and the capture window, after selecting desktop, shows 1440 width and 900 height - as well as 0 left 0 right.

Any idea if this has come up in the past?

Also - Have reinstalled different versions of VHScrCap. And when I create my profile in FME 1440x900 isn't an option, however this shouldn't matter since I modify that later in the XML file?

Thanks if you have any advice.
