| Hey guys, So I saw at best buy the other day a 60" TV that does 1920x1080 resolution, which happens to be exactly the same as my 30" monitor that I broadcast at. What the heck, when did HD TV's get such high PC resolution rates? So I was wondering, has anybody ever plugged a PC into a 1920x1080 LED/LCD/Plasma TV that supports that high resolution? How does it look? I think it would actually look really good since that resolution is pretty large. What do you think? |

| Isn't there 60hz TVs that do 1920x1080? I'm thinking about picking one up and mounting it to the wall in my office, god that would be insane. |

| Senior Member | Optimal viewing distance is 8-12' for a 60" TV. Doesn't seem very practical unless we're all going to be watching Tim live at the Multiboxing.com gathering in Las Vegas. ![]() How's that for starting rumors? |

Panasonic makes a 103" TV you could mount up on your wall.

| Sidrael yea thats one of the problems I was thinking might happen as well. The 30" I have right now are almost like that, so its a bit of a worry yea. Hmm might just skip it then. |

also, as far as the edges getting chopped off (that's called overscan, btw), your video drivers should be able to handle that easily enough. i know for a fact that nVidia drivers can do this easily, because i helped set up my girlfriend's PC to run on her plasma screen for use as a home theater PC....it has an nVidia adapter in it, and you can simply go into the drivers and there's a place to adjust the screen area.....you just drag a little outline box around until that box fits just barely within the confines of the screen, and it will only render video (2D & 3D both) within those lines, effectively getting rid of the overscan, so nothing is being rendered off the edge of the screen. | |
