Hey there, Well for multiboxing it really comes down to how involved and fluid you want your team to be. Sure there are multiboxing softwares that are free, but from what I can see, they aren't very featureful or easy to use. It is my opinion that the multiboxing software is probably the most important single piece a multiboxer will use, and it just happens to typically be the cheapest piece, so it pretty much is a good investment of a few bucks.

There are two choices for boxing. You can go hardware or software. There are several ways to hardware box. And there are seven major options for software boxing. From comparing their features, I'd personally only really consider: HKN, IS Boxer or Pwnboxer. Unfortunately, mentioning PB on the other boxing site gets the post deleted, and links to the other programs don't work from here.

There is strong support for HKN, IS Boxer, KC and PB. HKN, IS Boxer and KC have support on the other boxing site. Of these, only HKN and IS Boxer have strong mouse broadcasting, which once you use it for ground based AoE attacks or repeater region (mouse-click based) heals, you'll never want to go back to healing by macro. PB has similar levels of support on this site. Like HKN and IS Boxer, it offers every feature you'd want in a boxing software (including the aforementioned strong mouse broadcasting). Tim updates PB quite regularly with small tweaks as requested. IS Boxer also gets regular updates, but they seem to be a little less frequent, with more tweaks per update. I have no experience with GCP, but they have extensive documentation on their site; they are not active on either forum. If their program does everything it claims, it is also an option which does everything you'd want in a boxing program. I've personally gone with IS Boxer, and think its the strongest option. But there are several hundred software boxers for each option, and they'll tell you the same; they are happy with their software and it does everything they want it to. So just compare the features of each, and go with one. Quite a few will offer trial versions for a week or so, which lets you see what a program is like in actual play, prior to paying for it.
