Discussion of 5box combinations?

Tim et al,

Was considering starting up again with multiboxing, and trying to work out what combination I'd want to go with. Started watching Tim's priest + 4 hunter, wondering why he'd go with a priest (which soon became evident from the healing side of things).

Is there any discussion on these boards I can read up on, or can anyone give me their thoughts on:

Starting with Healer + 4 hunters:
Priest v druid v shaman for the healer (paladin might be a little too single target?)

Dropping one hunter in favor of another class: maybe a feral druid tank for LotP?

Any other variations, either from a synergy, or from a "this class works well when multiboxing" perspective?


Would also be interested in any predominantly melee 5box setups, especially with respect to how frustrating (or not) it is trying to get them all in melee proximity.

What are your goals? What do you hope to accomplish? Is it a PvE or PvP squad? Do you want to do heroics or join raids or just quests?

mainly pve, but i keep in mind the ability to sit in something like AV with maybe talent swap and not be completely useless.

Would love to start up a 5 box squad and do all the dungeon achievements I guess

Tims 5 shamans do a pretty good job at instances and AV. 4 hunter/1 priest would be a nice pve combo as well

I like the Team Awesome setup: Paladin, Druid, Shaman, Shaman, Hunter.

Team awesome has a pro setup. I went another route. Instead of shaman I have SPriest and Destro Lock. I am running 10 so I will be putting at least one shaman in that group for good, however. It's tough to beat their utility.

i love moonkins, so i wanted to do soemthing with a moonkin.. i wanna be able to run heroics and do arenas, i think my setup gives me that versatility...


i run 4 moonkins and 1 resto shaman, i can make it elemental for pvp maybe...

either way im getting a haste buff, spell power buff, fear totem, and great heals.


i could always do target=focustargettarget for pve, and for pvp i could have 5 buttons set to each person with a cast sequence, or pop one of my moonkins out and use tranquility or have them all pop out put a cast sequence of hots on one target and go back to moonkin, lotsa options, im not there yet, but thats my theory of it all...


the 5 shaman idea seems so hard to beat with 5 chain heals, but i wanted moonkins i also wanna try doing all feral and one enhancement, that would be fun, or cause havok and have tehm all be healers haha...

im level 28 right now we will see when i get 60 how things foil out.

If you are thinking of doing both you should look into FTL instead of focus. It is a far superior system and by far the most flexible. It works for PvE, PvP, solo, group or raid play.

if you into 5 mans then i would have a tank then u can do raids, and if u get a 2nd boxer then u can both raid etc, just somethink u sould think about.
