Recently I tried my hand at boosting 3 mages that were all RAF'd together, but I have some problems with EXP. I noticed that when my mages were out of range of the kills to get the RAF bonus, they simply got more of a group bonus to make up for it. IE: Avg exp after 10 kills out of range in SFK : 176 exp But, when I pulled mobs in range of my mages to get the RAF bonus, the group bonus went down and the exp I received was roughly the same. Avg exp after 10 kills in range of RAF in SFK: 180 exp While I did get an average of 4 more exp, I thought the exp bonus for RAF was triple? Am I doing something wrong here?

The RAF bonus is between the char that invited "The Friend" and the "Friend" If either of the 2 parties is more than 3 levels apart then you will not get the bonus. I assume the 4 point diff you mentioned was just a case of different mobs on the 2 or more runs you did to get the average, although the instance is set with respect to the number of mobs in there, this can differ on what mobs they are and there levels Hope ths helps explain your issue Trooper

Right but the only characters that were RAF'd were the 3 mages, the DK I used to boost was not linked to either of the 3 accounts the mages were on.

Briarknit, If thats the case I think you are getting the RAF no matter if the mages were within range to get the kill or not. The only thing that seems to be different is the group bonus ( ie the the function for working out the total exp is based on that there was 3 toons together at the kill and not 4)

Shouldnt the combat log state "+Raf bonus" as well as "+group bonus" together then?

You can be in range of XP but out of range for the game to know its triple and the name of the mob killed.

Try and look at the combat log it will be very clear the total of the XP bonus. Use this as a guide for distances between RAF characters.

Correct. You can verify that you are in fact getting triple, by killing something close by and noting the experience for an elite (or non-elite) of whatever level. Then observe if the experience is the same, at a further range without the log showing +RAF.
